wow mate, thank you so much for taking the time to pen that positive feedback, though I do the builds for myself and not for an audience I do like to keep it entertaining and so your kind words mean a lot. and yes yes a sense of humor is a must as some days you win and others the truck wins, if you know what I mean, if you followed the thread you know it's not about getting it perfect but getting it running and progress not perfection, (that doesn't mean half donkey it on purpose it just means that you realize an army of skilled craftsmen and women built our trucks and here we are a one man circus act trying to re create it - so just do your best and have fun doing it)

In this age of R&R (Remove and Replace) where Mechanics have been replaced by "Technicians" who in their right mind rebuilds things any more?

I remember salvaging starters and alternators with $3 dollar brushes and giving them another lease on life

these day's they don't even ask for your old parts back anymore to use them as cores

so we are really just doing a thorough inspection and some deep cleaning not necessarily a rebuild, though all that it would take is a new square o ring and a new rubber dust shield

in our case the piston looks great nice and smooth no grooves or scars

finished the day by starting on the second caliper, getting it ready for a shave

got the second caliper smoothed out and things was going great until...

I tore the rubber dust shield of the second caliper

looks like we'll be rebuilding these babies after all

I hope someone can help me out, I am super confused in trying to pick a power brake solution for my truck, every company I look at seems to offer something that looks different

let's tart with this $300 kit from Performance Online which is pretty much the same as Western Chassis (it comes with a proportioning valve, but no pedal)

FYI I am running disc in the front and drum in the rear
