Re: 1969 Short Wide
I just went through your whole build last night (only had time to look at pictures, not read it all) and this is going to be an awesome truck! I can't wait to see it finished!

Re: 1969 Short Wide
Finally got to read through the whole thing Mike, its coming along quite well! Your starting point was similar to mine it looked like. Jumping on board to watch you finish it out.

Re: 1969 Short Wide
What's the name of that primer? It looks like the stuff they used on the Powerblock TV show, Musclecar. I like the look of your progress. Keep it up.

Re: 1969 Short Wide
Ouch! I think that's the stuff they used on the Musclecar show. It looks good though. I bet the end result makes it all worth it in the end.

Looking killer Mike. Once you get the cab knocked out, you'll feel so much better knowing there isn't much left!

Re: 1969 Short Wide
I soak that kind of stuff for a couple days with Evapo Rust and does a pretty good job for those of us without blasting cabinets..
Looking good Mike. Keep moving forward.

You could probably find some very close at McMaster Carr or Fastenal. But it's hard to beat the originals. How many you have that are questionable? I'm going to end up with extras. Plus, I have a few old parts trucks out there. I can send you as many as you need. Thanks Steve. I have never tried evapo rust sounds like good stuff. I like having access to cabinet. It makes quick for most of these ole rusty parts.... Dang it takes a bunch of parts to build one of these trucks. |

Re: 1969 Short Wide
Thanks for the offer Mike! But I'd rather buy new black chromate ones if possible. There were just a few that got chewed up pretty good, figured I'd replace them all one day anyways.
