This is a serious question. Does anyone on the board know Texas well. After last nights elections California has the highest taxes in the union. I am sick of this state and my wife and I want out. Can someone please help guide me on the places that are nice in Texas. I am serious about this so any advice would be great. I am looking to go on vaction there to see what texas has to offer

Re: Tootsie build for my mother with cancer
I have a question that I might have missed the answere to earlier in this build...
The truck came with the orange paint when you got it, correct? If so, have you done anything to the paint (except the door logo, which is OUTSTANDING!)? FYI: Here is a link to Fredericksburg, TX web site...Great place... http://fbgtx.org/

Gabby and I seriously looked into this 5 years ago. My family actually move to CA from TX in '78. Hands down, Austin is the spot. Young families, cool downtown. Please go there and this will make it an easier sell to the wife to visit and maybe relocate someday. Posted via Mobile Device |

Judging from your house you'd fit right in in either of these areas. Plus if you sell your house in Cali you'd be able to buy a house twice the size here in Houston. Whenever you come for vacation feel free to PM me & I'd gladly give you some great places to check out. I love my city & wouldn't want to live anywhere else man. |

Re: Tootsie build for my mother with cancer
Houston Texas is getting pretty bad, I have lived here for 35 years and I am ready to go. We will be moving our family owned business because of tax issues and the influx of certain types of people. I will not leave the state, but Houston is out. With your type of Income you are probably going to get taxed to death anywhere you go, under the Obama plan. Just like us.

Re: Tootsie build for my mother with cancer
Eric, sorry to hear about your mom. All the best to you and your family. I know she is strong and can beat it.
Bro I just got back from SEMA and OPTIMA monday night and needed to get caught up again. Your truck is kickin a$$. Its looking really good. Further more I love that you and your Dad picked up a GMC for him. It's nice to see someone else building a GMC. Keep up the great work and we will chat soon Bro!!

Nice thing about Ft. Worth and to a lesser degree, Granbury is it's not too far fram Dallas where they have EVERYTHING you would ever want but you don't have to deal with their traffic. Edit, Sorry, when I posted this I realized I missed a whole page and Mike had already given the info.

Re: Tootsie build for my mother with cancer
i love texas, by looking at pics you are going to be looking for a high end house. granbury is actually about 30 minutes south of fort worth. Aledo is west of fort worth bout 10 min. alot of very nice houses. cost of living is alot cheaper from what i hear. and gas prices are $3.05 a gallon for regular. feel free to pm me if you have any questions about a area near fort worth.

Re: Tootsie build for my mother with cancer
Eric move to south florida plenty of amazing homes, great weather, no income tax...The only thing that kind of sucks in comparison to other southern states is the car culture not quite as big as in California, Arizona or Texas.
