Re: Joined the Short Wheelbase Club *69 Tahoe Project*
I jumped over to your Sunbeam build (nice work as I expected), just to see the Tahoe in the background as you introduced a Porsche to the stable. Sure would like to see the Tahoe get done some day.

I know ,huh! I used sit up nights reading the updates and watching , Never did join the site 'til 8 years later. That's the beauty of registering ,so you can search the site better and find these old builds and learn some more.

Re: Joined the Short Wheelbase Club *69 Tahoe Project*
I got lucky and was able to see this in person (a long time ago lol). He bought a rearend for his other popular build super close to where I live. I volunteered to pick it up and run it down to him. Wife went along, we made a nice trip out of it.
I have seen a lot of these shorty burbs now and proportionally this one is the most well thought out one out there. It just looks right. People not in the know wouldn't look at it and think that's something is not quite right with that truck |

Re: Joined the Short Wheelbase Club *69 Tahoe Project*
Hey Guys! Love the painted rendering!! Can you give it white below the lower trim? That was my plan for the paint - white roof and white below the lower trim.
Since the Sunbeam - complete with Dana44 delivered by CG is now on the road (still needs interior bits completed) I will be turning my attention back to Tubby. My wife wants it gone and she’s justified given some toys I’ve picked up along the way. BUT, I want to get it at least roadworthy again before selling. Which means there will be some updates. Between us I’m hoping that once it’s driving again we decide she’s a keeper Can’t wait to do some more metal work! |

Re: Joined the Short Wheelbase Club *69 Tahoe Project*
I thought about doing that to my Blazer (with white chip guard and touching up the blue...in ink only, might have to leave the patina? )

Re: Joined the Short Wheelbase Club *69 Tahoe Project*
Funny thing is, somehow I found your Minx build over on British V8s. I read that thread probably a year-and-a-half ago and then lost track. Then I was checking other stuff out on this site - I'm usually in the square body part. That sounds funny. Anyway, as I started reading this I thought over and over again, I got to go check this out, Frizzle Fry is just down the way a bit. And the further I kept going the more I kept underlining my note to self. I understand the accumulation of projects, it's happened to me too. I hope you figure out a way to keep this. Suburbans are great kid haulers, and I can say that from growing up. Keep the faith brother, whatever you're doing is cool. Even if you're building a Porsche, put a link on here. I'll come check it out.

Re: Joined the Short Wheelbase Club *69 Tahoe Project*
Well to bump this thread for a hopeful update, and to say thank you for the inspiration. It seems I picked up a suburban from fellow member Uncle today. If I can find a hatch I’ll be doing a lot of rust repair and shortening to 116” wheelbase, if not it’s crew cab time. The fiancé probably wouldn’t say thank you after seeing what I brought home, but I am quite thankful for putting this crazy thought in my head.
