Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
thanks guys!
last night i had a buddy bring over his tac module and pedal from his '02 esclade motor swap and i had the same result... just idle. soooo, its either 1 of the 2 sensors on the t/b or a problem in the pcm. he's going to bring over his pcm and let me try that tomorrow... if i have the same problem (no throttle response) then its the tp sensor. if she runs and i have throttle is the tuning in the damn computer... any insight or thoughts here guys? btw, where's Bob The Builder at??

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
You can find some one that has a snap on vantage tool. Then test the tps sensor and look at the graph and move the throttle and see if it responds, that test is done just with ignition on i believe.

Dennis, I keep going back to watch the video clips. I love how it wants to sound. Should be killer when you get it dialed in.

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
ordered a new water pump through Larry at specialized parts planet. should be here today.(mine started leaking like a sieve afte i filled it through the top hose). i sent the pcm and tac module back to current performance on monday. should have it by tomorrow. Jarad from cp said the tac module is different from the program he reflashed the pcm with to make the 4l80e work. so they werent communicating. thats why no throttle control. he's overnighting it back to me.
i hope this takes care of all the little bugs and problems so i can get a good video for you guys

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
Tell ya what, I think once we get these done and running we'll have to take a week off and do a road trip to somewhere central U.S. and meet up with all the other interested squares and do a nice mountain drive or something.

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
thanks guys! after everything is said and done we DEFINITELY have to get everyone together in the middle! i think thats a great idea... we have all been watching and helping each other build their trucks... then to finish them and be able to see them in person and meet each other would be FANTASTIC! we've all become good friends through the board and meeting in person would be like icing on the cake... and we could eat it together!
