Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Daughter is responding well to treatment…
After a couple of busy days at work, and some appts for today that had to re-schedule, DAY OFF!!! Other than a trip to Lowes to grab some Top Soil, Manure & Sand (for a small garden area) I was able to get some truck time in... FIrst a couple of pics of the Trans crossmember bolted in… IMG_2835 by ta2don, on Flickr IMG_2836 by ta2don, on Flickr Yesterday I grabbed the crossbreed U-Joint and here's a shot of it on the rear-end pinion… The pinion section is just a bit narrower and the end caps a bit smaller in diameter then the Driveshaft section… IMG_2915 by ta2don, on Flickr The Driveshaft installed... IMG_2925 by ta2don, on Flickr Finally I started mocking up the Serpantine Belt set-up… The A/C Compressor is just there for belt placement, I will be using an A/C delete pulley until I save enough pennies for a vintage air system… The Alternator is AWOL... Gotta pick it up Monday from the rebuilder… The bearings were toast... IMG_2928 by ta2don, on Flickr Finally, a shot of JoJo sitting in the truck as we arrived at the studio this morning... IMG_2924 by ta2don, on Flickr

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Today I forged ahead a bit... the term forged stolen from Modges… see previous post...
I started out rebuilding the edelbrock carb I bought a while back… IMG_2937 by ta2don, on Flickr IMG_2938 by ta2don, on Flickr IMG_2939 by ta2don, on Flickr Float levels re-adjusted…they were way off... IMG_2940 by ta2don, on Flickr Bowls needed serious cleaning... IMG_2941 by ta2don, on Flickr All cleaned up and mounted, along with new dipstick doing it's best to photobomb... IMG_2949 by ta2don, on Flickr The last pic today is the front of the engine… again… this time the P/S pulley is painted and I am now on the hunt for a high pressure hose that will tie the older fitting on the box to the newer style fitting on the new style pump... IMG_2950 by ta2don, on Flickr The Alternator will re-appear tomorrow and before I bow out, I must say THANK YOU!!! to Markb01… In the process of slapping all the engine stuff together I started researching my options for a fuel pump… After reading a few threads, I decided to PM Mark and get his opinion since I'd read his thread through his fun involving fuel delivery systems… He graciously responded very quickly and endured more questions and provided links to the products (Pre-pump fitter, Pump, and Relay) he recommended… I thanked him and immediately ordered said parts... The plan is to fire the engine the day or so after Mother's Day!!!

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Another beautiful day and more truck time put in...
I started the day with a trip into town to pick up my alternator and get a Hybrid P/S Hose made… My P/S pump is a newer one with the o-ring fitting, and the P/S box is the older style Flare fitting… So after getting a hose made, here it is… IMG_2957 by ta2don, on Flickr I then painted the connecting pieces on my Custom Emblems the coming body color to get the separation needed… Here are 2 shots of the emblems… IMG_2963 by ta2don, on Flickr IMG_2967 by ta2don, on Flickr I then mounted the Alternator and decided to clean up the casing… IMG_2974 by ta2don, on Flickr IMG_2975 by ta2don, on Flickr Then I painted the fan blades… the mounted it... IMG_2977 by ta2don, on Flickr IMG_2980 by ta2don, on Flickr In the midst of the cleaning, the starter and solenoid was cleaned, checked and painted IMG_2981 by ta2don, on Flickr Lastly, I cleaned up the Front Upper Shock Mounts, and installed all 4 shocks… IMG_2983 by ta2don, on Flickr IMG_2984 by ta2don, on Flickr IMG_2986 by ta2don, on Flickr IMG_2987 by ta2don, on Flickr Next Weekend, the Fuel Tank, Pump will be installed, and the get the Motor Fired up...
