Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
Thanks for the comments guys! Will be posting photos with the new tires when mounted.
I did pull the grille out and paint it last week - it was a weathered orginal piece. I've ordered new shocks and front coils (photos don't show it, but the left front spring is bad). Door panels were already on the truck when I bought it - if they are LMC repops that's good to know. I'm looking for a set of buckets - could be original or something that would fit. Any suggustions as to what to look for besides a vintage set? |

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
That's the original grille - I believe. It was actually quite weathered - I just pulled it out and painted it last week with a rattle can paint that's designed for plastic. Was a virtual perfect match.

Very nice truck Todd, lifting it will just make harder to get in plus load your bike. But some people have long legs....Vernski

Wouldn't do a lift - looks great!!! If you do though, keep it to 4 or less.

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
IF you lift it, your choices are really limited because its a 2wd. I know fabtech makes a kit but i think its only 3".

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
I wouldn't lift it unless you have your heart set on 33" or larger tires. I lifted mine solely for that purpose though. I gotta have at least 33's on a long bed. and 31's on a short bed.

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
I don't really have that many pictures of my longbed '81. Dunno why either, I'll have to remedy that problem soon... But I do have videos of it so far. Almost everything is stock except the new 600 cfm Edlebrock Street Avenger carb and racing intake manifold, valve covers, Mr. Gasket oil cap, and Thrush Welded mufflers. I dunno the horsepower, but I wouldn't say it's much more than the stock 289 hp roughly.
Walk-around and Start-up: Exhaust sound: Take off:

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
This is back in about '92 or '93. It's got a pic of my uncle's big ass Chevy lol, and the little blonde baby is me.
Went back to Cali last summer to visit, he still has that truck. And uh, it's a lot shorter than I remember. LOL Just noticed the thread was for long beds. Oops! Lol, but aside from it's a stepside, not a long box, it's a decent truck. Still is.
