Well front bled out but the rear is putting up a fight still I got the back passenger to bleed just fluid 3 times in a row a couple times but the back driver won't go and once I go back to the passenger it has air too... Going to try a couple things and maybe just try it a little more since I did open up the lines quite a bit to put on new parts... So we'll see CPP is having free shipping so I'm going Togo ahead and take advantage of that and get the rest of my parts ordered from them as well.

I'm guessing you are using the two person method, here are some tips to help you out.
Get a helper to pump the brake until the pedal is at maximum resistance then hold the brake pedal down while you release the valve and let out the air. Repeat this step until you are sure there is no more air in the line. The trick here is to get a tight fitting hose to slip over the valve with the other end in a tall skinny bottle of brake fluid so no air can get into the system. If it is being stubborn you can use a sand or rubber hammer to strike the caliper before you release the valve to force air bubbles out. Once you are done bleeding the system you can use a funnel and a coffee filter to put the unused brake fluid back into the main bottle. Last edited by Xeen; 08-07-2014 at 10:53 AM. |

Well I did some research on pinion angles and I was under the assumption you couldn't have the driveline level... But turns out the pinion and trans have to have matching angles and all is well and my pinion and trans have matching angles so I didn't bother with the switch. I did take out the 3 rivets (6 total for both passenger and driver sides) for the coil/shock crossmember out that are on top of the frame rails; my reason for this is 1 rivet was completely loose the one next to it had a gap between the frame and the hat of the rivet and the other one had a gap on the inside portion of the frame so I figured I might as well do them all since there have already either been messed up or either were installed wrong. So I got them out and replaced with fresh grade 8 hardware. I'm going to order my deluxe trac bar kit and c notch kit from CPP within the next couple of days. Thinking about ordering there shock relocation brackets to. |

Just ordered my deluxe trac bar kit, c-notch kit and rear shock relocation brackets from CPP so should be getting those in a week... About to drop off my 67 caps to get chromed. As well. So more progress is soon to follow

Now the truck isn't actually my truck my mom and dad bought it, which is fine with me because I get to drive it and see how it drives and feels, but I still get to have my 67! I am in disbelief that there's a 2014 sitting in the driveway, I'm blown away!

Your truck is looking good as always. Yep those 2014 are awesome. I wanted to buy one but in a single cab shortbed but just to much dollars for me and not a real steady job to depend on. So just keeping the 01 silverado and the 61 c10 to tinker with.

Well lucky for us we got a 72-0 on the 14... I'm still in disbelief that there's no interest lol. Well even with the new truck around I'm still taking care of the 67.... Nothing can replace the 67! Was cleaning it a bit and I threw on the 67 caps for now.

I've got a situation here... I'm looking for new shocks in the rear but now that I've lowered it 5" in the rear I know I need 15-1/2" extended and 10" collapsed... But my problem is I've read a couple of build threads and I heard that cpp's black magic shocks are a little spongy and don't give the best ride... So I'm looking for a better shock with will give me a nice smooth ride but will be supportive for bumps and pot holes. Does anybody have a recommendation for a brand of shock, and the part numbers? Would really appreciate it!

I picked up a pair on Monroe's off Amazon for about $30 shipped to the door... Slapped them on a while back and I haven't bottomed out yet... The ride isn't air bag smooth, but not too shabby either...

I bought the Monroe Magnums for all 4 corners of mine but I haven't been able to drive it yet to tell you how it rides but they are a lot beefier than the regular Monroes.

Well when you do get the chance to test them out let me know, if they prove to give a nice ride for your truck then I'll follow and get them for the 67.
Well just got an email back from cpp (finally) that they sent out my order... Very confusing how this order worked out... I won't bore you guys with all the mumbo jumbo. So waiting for the parts to get here before I can make any kind of progress on the 67. Did get the shocks installed and the ride is much better. Would post a picture but we all know what shocks are and what they look like on the rear of our trucks so I'll report back when I have some more progress.... Until then I'll be under the hood of my sisters mustang.... |
