You won't believe how easy this is to do. First thing is to make sure you are doing it somewhere that it won't splash on something you don't want ruined. Of course wear eye protection & gloves. For me I used an old bucket I had in the garage. Then you get aircraft remover I bought mine from autozone and pour it in the bucket. Let them soak for a couple of minutes and start using the 0000 steal wool. You can do it without the aircraft remover but it will take some elbow grease and hard to get all the corners. Rinse thoroughly & that's it. I spent probably 10 minutes on all of them combined. Bought new 2.5" GMC Center stickers off eBay. Member PT''S 70 CST also sells them on parts page. Just peel back the paper on the sticker & center it. I didn't remove the old bow tie on mine just placed it over it. It sticks really well. [ATTACH]1356197

Those look great! Are those the original metal center caps & not the plastic chromed ones? My metal ones that I took off are in the storeroom & I bought some plastic chromed ones off eBay that came with the center stickers, just beware, I had two of the center stickers come off, Luckily I found one that had fallen off & I glued it back on with some body trim adhesive, so far no problems with it falling off. Looks like it's time for me to clean up the old metal ones & replace those plastics ones. Thanks for the tip!

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Those caps look sweet, I must say I might be on the prowl for some air craft remover now.

Today on my rig I installed a new heater switch and fuse. Happy to have heat again!
Also put new bulbs behind heater switches so it lights up again.

Bough some brake shoes and a spring kit. Plan on putting that all in tomorrow.

Last week I also rewired my door speakers so that my sound is coming out the doors as well as from the truck riders under the seats.

Now after an oil change, brake job, and maybe a new exhaust, I may be ready to put her up for sale.
That will be a sad day...
but anyways, that's what I did to my truck today!

Tomorrow maybe aircraft remover!

I ran the vacuum advance line from my carb to my new HEI dizzy and put in a valve cover grommet. That's all I got.

Gonna get the heater controls back in right after I look at the high fan speed relay this weekend. Had to repair a broken arm on the defrost control lever. Wasn't to bad. Bought it on 12-26 and haven't drove it for 2 weeks. Just been to busy with work and gets dark way to early.

Decided to get a new radiator so I can quit screwing around with the old/factory one.

Hope to install it tomorrow.

New PUI door panels and OER arm rest/door pulls. Going back in black replacing original but red painted split panels and pulls. I liked the older look, so didn't do '71 panels.

I got the full wrapped 'pads' from Summit. Off and on easy peasy. My only issue is there are no screw holes to affix them at the bottoms, I will either use some emblem tape like I did with the matching headliner or make my own holes. I did have to get longer machine screws for the passenger side armrests, they wouldn't quite bite. Ace Hardware solved that for .30 cents. Can't wait to put in black carpet, too. Thanks!

That is a good option, I would need to figure a way to attach to the back of the panels without going through the vinyl or if they had a large enough base glue them on...ideas?

Installed a cd player, adjusted the lifters, cleaned the valve covers, installed new valve cover gaskets, replaced 2 "u" joints, topped it off with non-ethanol-premium, Drove it like I stole it.
