give the truck a good oil bath and it won't rust away as fast

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
i was looking for bigger ones too but hadnt found them bigger then 18 inch either
there steel wheels that are 20 inch they use them as sparetire for a pickuptruck you might be able to weld a 20 inch hoop from those wheels ontoo a centre like the one shown the man who told me was planning on welding a truckwheelcentre in them for use on a dually pickup

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
Here is a pic of my '87 and how it sits right now. I have future plans for a 3.5/5 drop and 18" Boss 338's. I am also upgrading the front brakes to the HD brakes and putting a '96 30 spline rearend w/ an Eaton Locker and 3.42's to aid in towing the boat.

Sweet looking truck, and welcome to the boards. Do some looking in the 73-87 area about your proposed wheels. Some guys have had problems with them fitting right.

On the hub in the front I presume? I have actually already encountered that, but I think I can modify and overcome

Puppy, that is a nice cleen V! Is that a stock fender emblem? It looks like it says "special edition"?

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
The model, not the engine! In 87 K10's became V10's, and C10's became R10's. Gm was engineering up to the 88 model year and all the changes that came with it. The last C10's and K10's produced are 86's. The same is true with the 20's (3/4 ton) and 30's (1 ton). See the last line in my siggy.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
I havent been on here in a while. I have moved to San Antonio, Tx. I did pick up 78 stepper and built a 402 for it. I know I need to take some better pics. This one is from my cell phone. The spark plug has since been removed from the rad. lol it came with the truck.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
thank you, you have found an awesome place with great people and TONS of knowledge. if your going to build her up start a build thread so you have documentation for everything you do and plenty of motivation from others comments and advice.
