Funny how the state of my cellar and foundation never concerned me all these years. I considered myself done here 30 years ago. Looking at moving on I realized I couldn't expect others to accept things I have. It would have been nice if I had done this cellar work 30 years ago so it could have been more for me.

Getting set for winter. All sorts of tasty apple dishes in the comfort of wood heat.

I didn't have work last Tuesday so I poured the stem wall for the barn. Got the forms stripped and now it can cure a while. Back to digging in the cellar now.

The ash is from standing dead trees . I milled a few hundred board ft of good ash I cut off the crooked ends from the boards and just ripped them down.

Marybeth already made two more pies and is getting ready to make and can apple butter. Neighbor came by for apples yesterday he makes apple cider. This year was bumper crop with the cool wet weather we’ve had . So the deer are getting plenty .

Oh man, I always loved those tractor style sprinklers. I have yet to own one, though. Very neat, nice job. You don't like IH?

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Been a very good trailer . I mounted the winch comes in handy dragging and loading big wood . Also made the arch for it .

She doesn't stack the wood outside that's my job . She gets to throw it down the bilco doors and stack in the basement

Father in law was a John Deere guy so I figured I'd follow that. I'm actually an IH fan. Gotta keep the wife happy so she doesn't think I love my truck more than her.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Oooh yeah, the deer.

Today my son and I drove about 30 miles to help an elderly couple I'm doing work for move a heavy antique cabinet from the shop where they bought it to the place we've been working on for them to move into. We get to the antique shop right on time. I was so worried about making them wait it never occurred to me maybe they'd leave us waiting. I gave a call at 5 after and she says Doc left me a message they had to cancel and try tomorrow. Sheesh, I never got any message. Got home, mowed the grass

I am now in that boat as well with my wife and I being empty nesters but as I told my neighbor once, look at it as insurance your home value will not go down. Two things tend to hold people in an area, employment and schools. If one goes the other will follow and then home/real estate values decline.

I am with the other Larry. I just got done paying all my property taxes and every time I seem to forget about that small piece of land in Stone county, but the county sure doesn't forget!

72C20 - That Toyota a 4Runner? Sure looks like the fixed caliper setup on one if my memory serves me correct.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Well, I am not tax lover by any means but, at least school taxes add value if the ISD is spending it properly. Bad schools...bad home resell.

Inventory taxes chap my bUttocks!

But, it is a wonderful day...

Our big "Do" today is waiting for Best Buy to show up with my Samsung 75" brand spankin' new in the box color TV.

My 5 year old grandson busted up his parents TV so we are donating our 3 year old 65" to soften the blow. He was having a BIG time throwing a ball around got a bit toooo rambunctious.

Looked at the mess that keeps growing. One of these days I have to actually sort thru it and put all this stuff up in a semi organized fashion. I normally am much better, but all this stuff coming in with the 70, just have not had time to catch up yet.

Soon as we get things settled at my friends widow's place I'll get onto it.

I've been there before. I had rented a barn on a farm for years, then the place finally sold, 60 days to clear out. It all had to come back to my house and I needed to create space for it all

I managed to get everything put somewhere. That was some time ago. Now, I'm moving a building. So, everything had to be cleared out and put somewhere. It has an upstairs that was full of stuff, too. My screened picnic house is stuffed full of things, I have things in corners of my house, in the wood shed, garage, and I built a small pavilion directly next to this building to roll heavy stuff into. This building I built in '88 and was quite a conglomeration of things. It will be nice to be done and get everything back in place.
