Re: What did you do to your truck today?
lets see today I worked on the drivers side fender, I cut out the rust and cleaned it up, I then welded a nice new piece of metal in, I also added a bottom 1/2 of the fender that I got from Classic parts and also a fender brace, added a little more lip to keep the edges even, then I apply a light coat of long hair bondo sanded it and put a coat of classic gold bondo on and started sanding, its looking good.

Very cool. Good for you. That's going to be really nice during the long Idaho winters.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Thanks markeb01 I have an old Fisher [mama bear] stove I've had for years, with a Magic heat circulater on the stove pipe. When I run outta wood I have a propane heater for backup I'm planing to stay warm this winter.

Absolutely nothing. Seems to be getting quite regular, and very depressing.

Swapped over to my other better hood. Now I can take care of all the little dents and start painting it :-)

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Had a local sheet metal shop form my new tail pan.
Picked it up today a spent a couple of hours fitting it to the truck. It mounts between the splash pans flush with the cross sill at the top, and angles down about 15 degrees to the rear. The NOS lights came with 15 degree tapered mounting pads so the lights end up pointing straight back. Etch primer and paint tomorrow, one step away from having backup lights. |

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
I took it to the Body shop to see if they could fix the bent frame horns I found when I put on the New Bumper

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
put a new rear-end in it and lowered the rear a few inches. has air shocks so I have the ability to level it out more. It isn't that much lower in the back than the front as it appears. I think the massive gap between tires and fender in the front gives it that illusion that the rear is far lower than front. Going to lower the front in the very near future.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Painted my new tail pan, and being the hottest day of the year so far (95 at my house) I just left it outside to bake.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Installed my back up lights last night, and wired them up today. Waiting for it to get dark so I can take some photos of how well they illuminate the area.
The nice part being if I get tired of the setup it can simply be unbolted and removed. I'm looking forward to having reverse lights since there are no street lights where we live. |

I was saving that switch for the electric exhaust cutouts, that were going on right after the new engine with the rough cam. Financial changes cancelled those plans. I'm still waiting for it to get dark in a couple of hours to see how much they light up behind the truck. All I can tell at this point is they hurt your eyes if you look right at them in the daylight! Here are a few more pics of how the backup lights look at night: And these shots are in near darkness. The first is illuminated with parking/tail lights only. The second shows the power of the backup lights. I think the genuine glass prismatic lenses really makes a difference. What are these lights from originally? I feel like I remember them from one of my Dad's cars but I can't remember which one.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Don`t feel bad about the time spent on one fender, in the end it will be worth it, I spent 120 hrs on one right rear fender for this...
