Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Well guys, I did the same thing today that I've done everyday for almost a year now. I got up this morning, Started the ol Pickup, finished getting ready for work, hopped in the cab and away we go! We had some fresh snow this morning, love beating my little truck through the snow!

Not from this morning, but this was at Duck Camp in October. The truck got trashed during this trip, and I loved every minute of it!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Cleaned up the a power steering gear box and the pump.. going to paint them once I know I have all my brackets and alse started measuring everything up to see what is missing. That rag joint doesn't look like it's going to be fun to take off. probably going to pull part of the steering shaft from the firewall too.

I did and he kind of argued with me. They are taking it back but I have to pay for shipping. I will just never use or recommend them.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

After a long time of just driving, I had some issues to fix. Heater motor was shorting. Needed a new ground. Topped off the tranny and engine oil. Fixed the fuel and temp gauge.....at least I thought I did. Temp still will not register. Tightened the headers.....again. That is about a weekly procedure. Just need to spring for the locking bolts. Installed a new dimmer switch.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Bought the shock relocation kit, 4" rear drop springs and a new double adjustable panhard bar. Looking forward to getting the rear end done so I can get her aligned. Just got the front end done last weekend with new tie rod ends and upper and lower ball joints. Anyone have a good write up on centering the rearend?

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Ordered a new front stepside bed panel, epoxy primer and a used set of deluxe side markers! the rest of the bed i nearly done getting media blasted and looks good, cept for the tailgate is a little ruffer than it appeared after blasting it. i guess that can easily be swapped for a better one at a later date. Hot Rod Black Satin showed up this week along with the new poly trailing arm and track bar bushings! still gotta few parts to round up yet but this will get things rolling!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Tinkering with some spare parts. A little semi gloss black, some satin burgandy and a silver paint pen makes a big difference:

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Thanks. My Interior is black and burgandy so I thought I would give it a try. I had these as extra. I think I will pull out the one I have in the dash and work it over. It's in a bit better shape. I was just curious to see how it would look. I think it took me about 10 minutes total time to get it to look like this.

Installed some ball joints and some upper control arm shafts. That was enough for a day I get lazy since I work on cars all day for a living.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Both freeze plugs in the front of my SBC in my 1972 GMC have been leaking for over a year. First time I have ever had any leak. Sooo... I had to dismantle the front to beat both of them out, and beat new ones in. Removed radiator and water pump and pullies. Loosen P/S pump and slide it all the way outboard. Now i'm into the reassembly... what a PITA.
