That's funny. I haven't seen leaded gasoline in years.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Finished rebuilding my carb...installed. Rebuilt my headlight buckets, tried to figure out why my front end was sagging. Turned out it was the radiator support bracket mounts are completely shot. So...I ended up with this. I guess this is how one starts the "frame-off" process. Lol. Here we go folks!

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Been a while.
Did I mention that this truck is fighting me every step of the way....?? I decided that because the truck is getting so much new stuff, the $24.00 for a pair of trailing arm bushes was another thing that needed doing. Replace the 50 year old units while the truck is in bits. Getting the old ones out meant unbolting the trailing arms from the chassis, and then one needs to burn the old ones out. Thankfully I have a butane burner that I use for the branding on my woodwork stuff when I turn or build items. Once burned out, petrol cleaned the channels and made sure they were ready to receive the new bushes. New ones fitted..... Next problem, getting the trailing arms back up and threading the bolts through. I decided to kick Martin out by 8.30 as he had more people to see and more stuff to do. I will use the Jack later in the week to lift both arms up and hopefully get the bolts seated, or else I will have to unbolt the rear of the trailing arms and then refit the front, followed by the rear. Felt good to be back under the truck.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Thank you.
"Block paving" as it is known here in the UK is popular and reasonably priced. The guys who lay it will do an area like this in under a day. They work like machines. This was that section looking the other way toward the house and where the woodwork shed went.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Awesome seat for $100, fits perfectly the 2 front bolt holes line up so I just had to drill 2 for the back. Easy 20 minute install.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Got the cab stripped down to nothing. Just glass to remove and its time to start blasting.
Then I'll be onto what LT1 Burb is doing. Any tips on removing windshield and back glass? |

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Its cold out here and my GMC didn't have a working heater, so I took the blower motor out to find it was seized up solid. Put one in that I got from my 66...well...now I have freezing ice cold air. lol But hardly a touch of heat. Took the top off and the core had pine needles and crap on top of it...vacuumed that off...sill no heat. Thinking my core is plugged up or something. Will be taking the core out Saturday to see if the fins are still plugged. If they are I'll blow them out and if that doesn't help I'm throwing a new core in. Probably not a bad idea considering this one is 50 years old anyhow.
EDIT: One of the vents was open letting cold air in. lol Closed that and problem solved. Time for some driving in the snow! Oh yeah...I did a burn out to while I drove it earlier today. haha
