we get it quite often

It has been really foggy during the nighttime hours here for the last few days and that is what's causing ours.

Great pic, unless you've seen one of those up close it's hard to put into perspective how big those eagles really are.

Many moons ago while moose hunting up out of Vanderhoof B.C. I observed them fishing the rivers and lakes...very impressive to say the least.

There was one awhile back somewhere in Florida...there were two babies in the nest and you could watch the parents bringing in fish to feed them. It was very cool to watch.

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

I watched a show recently, maybe on discovery, I don't remember, about a guy out west who has volunteered a bird sanctuary for over 30 years caring for eagles. He finds them injured on the highways and out in the wild. People will call him to rescue them. He found one that had eaten so much it could not get airborn. It's amazing how he can pick them up and hold them right up close to his chest and face and they not try to bite him. He holds their feet real good though. He found one barely alive and thought to be the result of lead poisoning. It was a long recovery on that one. He was near death.

There is a bird of prey rescue in Parker Co. that has an outreach program that travels to events as part of a learning opportunity. http://www.hawkquest.org/

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

How about a couple of pics of the old Comiskey Park while the new one was being built? We drove to Chicago specifically to see this as it was nearly complete.
We went to 2 games that weekend. The Sox played the Royals, so we even got to so Bo Jackson in the outfield. The next day we went to Wrigley to see the Cubs play the Reds. It was just dumb luck that the opposing team was the one we went to most often, since Cincinnati is the closest to home for us.

fog= water vapor in the air.
we sometimes get it when it's foggy, but mostly cause of the river putting moisture in the air.

Up in Alaska we would get fog that would come in off of Cook Inlet and then disappear leaving the roads covered with black ice.

Almost killed me once, but fortunately I spun off in a cut on the highway and not a fill! Coming home from work in the dark, I had no idea that the road was anything but dry. Went into the ditch backwards in a couple feet of snow. I got out and locked in the hubs and drove right out

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

I just found this on my patio. It was over at my other house which I seldom go to. I forgot I had it. A huge cast iron skillet. It's an old one made in Ohio.

Now I just need to figure out how to season it. There is no way it will fit in my oven and I don't think it will fit on any of my grill's. This thing is a monster. I have a Green Egg that will hit 800 degrees but it's not that big.

Any idea's what to do with this thing?

thinking either put a strong magnet in it and stick on top of the grille guard so i can remove it every time i leave the truck or up on the visor in the middle were no one "should" not be able to reach it

If I had gone off about a quarter of a mile in either direction, it would have been down maybe a 100 foot bank This was back when the Parks Highway was just a two lane going down from Wasilla towards the Matanuska/Knik bridges towards Eagle River and Anchorage.

I got lucky a few times when I was younger which started making me super careful. Not that I was a crazy driver, just that relatively normal driving could really get you (or someone else!) if the wrong thing just happened to happen. Just because you can drive a little bit faster down a canyon road doesn't mean some dumb sh1t won't be parked in the middle with their doors open looking at big horn sheep
