Re: 2wd Blazer and Jimmy's find thread

The one in the Inland Empire is not an original 2wd but may be a good start for a custom, and the one in Los Angeles I spent a day driving to look at it, it has the worst rust I have ever seen. It would need all new sheet metal. The picture must have been taken a long time ago. The owner thinks it's worth a million dollars. Everything under the tarp is gone. Not worth anything in my book.
Just my 2cents.

There is a 2wd GMC Jimmy on eBay. It looks like it needs some rust & dent repair, but...

I thought I seen this one on Instagram forsale for $7500?

I'd be curious to know what someone would pay for my 70 blazer. Body is straighter, but typical rust in floor.

I have everything complete. Only thing that I don't have that is correct is the dash pad. I have original straight 6 and it runs and drives! Even have original wheels and original spare tire carrier

Judging by the door panels and doors which appear to be original to the truck, the rear view mirror bolted to the windshield header and the placement of the TCS relays on the fire wall, this is a '71, not a '72. Not sure how that affects his 'one of 117 built in 72' claim, or for that matter, where he even came up with that statistic.

Good eye ls1nova71!! Looks like he changed the description to a 71 on the Ebay ad at the bottom.

Re: 2wd Blazer and Jimmy's find thread

Another one on eBay on a shortened truck chassis. Looks like the metal, hardtop and hatch are in decent condition and a good start to a project.

I saw this one also on Craigs. I wonder if it's a factory 2wd!

It is odd that it has '73-up control arms with the rubber bushings, so it probably isn't, but if it's been done right I don't see anything wrong with it.

Re: 2wd Blazer and Jimmy's find thread

Mine's not a factory 2wd. I actually prefer it that way since I don't feel bad cutting it up. (Ok, to be honest, I'd have cut it up either way...but a clean and rust free tub was more important to me than the original running gear).

Re: 2wd Blazer and Jimmy's find thread

https://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/cto/5421978852.html

Quote:
"Super Rare" Un-Molested - Re-conditioned Original 1970 Chevrolet Stock Blazer with Factory working A/C .... New GM 350 295 hp deluxe crate motor , New GM turbo 350 Transmission , New Period Correct Cheyenne Package Interior ... New Performance Exhaust ... New Cooper Cobra GT's ...Freshly powder coated GM rally's with GM Caps and Rings ... AM Delco radio .... Original Paint ... 67/68 Grill swap ... Disc Front Brakes ... Runs and Drives like New !!!!!!! Original Stock Condition ..........

Even though Blazers were first produced in 1969, the 2wd version did not go into production until 1970. And even then, GM only produced it in very small numbers. Only 985 were produced .....

Since the run of these truck was so limited, Chevy would just badge them as "K5-Blazers", disregarding that the correct model designation would have been "C5-Blazer." Chevy trucks with 4wd were identified with a "K", 2wd trucks with a "C". Regular trucks were identified by the number "10" and Blazers by the number "5".

•K-10 = 4wd truck
•C-10 = 2wd truck.
•K-5 = 4wd Blazer
•C-5 = 2wd Blazer (Even though they came badged as "K-5 Blazers.")

Front wheel disk brakes came only on 1971 and 1972 trucks. In 1970 they had drums all around.

The main differences between the 4wd and 2wd versions are the following:
•All factory 2wd Blazers were built with trailing arms and coil spring suspension. 4wd's came with leaf springs.
•The VIN numbers on 1970 and 1971 2wd's have a "C" as the first letter. In 1972 they first two letters are "CC". 4wd VINs started with a "K" or "CK" respectively.
•There are differences in the shape of the frames in the two versions, aside from the suspension differences.
•The 2wd's came with a 5 on 5 bolt pattern, versus the 6 lug 4wd's. The exception was in 1970. 1/2 ton 2wd trucks,Suburbans and Blazers were 6 lug in 1970. In 1971 when they went to disc brakes these changed to the 5 on 5 bolt pattern.

There have been more people looking to do a 4x4 to 2x4 conversion on their Blazers. This is becoming more common because of the limited production numbers of 2x4's - 4x4's are more common and less expensive than factory 2x4's. The process is not too difficult, and you can find advice on this conversion on the 67-72 chevy trucks page.

Please no BS .... No Scammer's ... No tire Kickers ... No Low Ballers .. No Dreamer's ... No Joy Rides ...

$32500... Price is Firm (Will Consider Trade for a Nice Original Stock Condition Chevrolet SB Truck plus cash)

That one was posted a few days back. Still funny how it says Super Rare Unmolested - Reconditioned. If it's been rebuilt it's not unmolested at that point lol

And with the front end swap it had to have been painted as to go from a '70 to a '67 is an entirely different clip.

Re: 2wd Blazer and Jimmy's find thread

That one from Idaho is a 4wd
CKE VIN# and it has lowering "leafs"
Hope the bidders know they are not buying a "rare" factory 2wd as is advertised in the ad
