Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

Fixed my rear LED turn signal/brake lights. Found out last night that I had no turn signal or brake lights when my headlights were on.

Spent 5 hours on them today. Got frustrated. Went to a buddies house.

“Try swapping the two connections around. See what happens”

…..damnit.

Have you replaced your mechanical blinker out for an electric one. If not your LEDs will not work. If you have done that than I would suggest checking all of your grounds.

I can only wish it was still winter. It was 101 here last week.

Yes. It was a screw up on the original builders part. The Tail and Brake wires were switched and I overlooked it.

Everything works fine without the headlights turned on.

Turn them on….and no brake lights or turn signal, but DRL are full brightness. Should have caught it.

Now I have it. Swapped them around and g2g.

Whoa, talk about going to extremes! I have heat in the shop, but no AC.

My Sanity has left the building. The '66 is off to the painters to get the roof painted. It should be done in about a week.

Ooh, I like that. If you could, please start a thread about your installation and experience. That would be great for folks considering purchasing one.

Thanks Christian! Will do; I didn’t take any pictures during the assembly but I will grab some more of the installed product and put together a thread.

Where do you have the sensor for the water temperature gauge installed in the engine? When I first installed my electric fan, I installed the thermostat for it in the back side of the intake manifold on my 350. The fan never turned on because it was not getting hot enough because it wasn’t making contact with water. So I moved it to the thermostat housing and it started getting a proper reading. All that to say, maybe your gauge is not getting a proper reading.

Front of the intake just next to the thermostat housing. Edelbrock RPM intake

Took my latest project in for front end alignment, all good to a point, all systems functioning, brakes bedded, clutch a bit stiff, will take some getting used to or adjust later, corners like a go cart, only glitch, 78k mile transmission seal decided it want to leak….easy fix, new seal will be here tomorrow…

Great feeling. There should be a song about that.

Cleaned up the taillight connections.
Lights are a lot brighter now.
Had to use PB Blaster to get the old bulbs out.

Sounds pretty rowdy. Not what I would expect a straight 6 to sound like.
