Re: Columbus..the 1957 IH 4x4..
I remember those! IIRC they typically had Rotax power and folding wing option? Are you planning to go steam gauges or glass panel?
I've been out of the sport aviation loop for many years but a friend at work is slowly inching me back in again. He just bought a Pitts Model 12 that I've been able to play a small part in a few updates and upgrades. (machined parts to convert it to auto plugs and wires and keep things neat and tidy.) Sorry for the hijack.

Re: Columbus..the 1957 IH 4x4..
they had several engine options (rotax. hirth ) you could go with...but I'm probably gonna go with a engine from Viking out of fla...I had originally bought a Yamaha for it...they told me it would work...it didn't...
yes it is a folding wing and probably gonna use glass panel instruments... what really sold me on them was the STOL...about 150ft

Greg,
Not sure where you ended up on your floor mat but while surfing today I came across this one. Not even sure if it is correct but thought I would forward the link "just in case" cause I know I would never find it again. https://class-tech-cars.com/ebay-mot...eatured&page=2

Re: Columbus..the 1957 IH 4x4..
Well a couple days ago I started washing the bed real good to do the bed liner....
Plan was to spray it this morning... Then Mom called... "Your Dad is trying to move the refrigerator and he cant..can you come help him.." So I ride over there this morning about 9.. The reason he cant move it is that it fell thru the floor.. Yep that's right.. 7 hrs later I have half their kitchen torn apart...the ice maker had been leaking for who knows how long.. The whole sub floor is rotted out..I've torn it out till theres nothing but the floor joists showing..that meant destroying their cabinets which had been built in place some 40yrs ago... The plywood and press board would just crumble in your hand... Had no clue it was this bad till I tore into it.... Now that it's gone this far I'm looking at repairing all this damage, probably pulling up the rest of the kitchen flooring, cause new will never match the old..painting all the walls..rebuilding cabinets...etc etc etc Why can't anything ever be simple...

Re: Columbus..the 1957 IH 4x4..
I knew it was gonna be bad when I moved the fridge , and fell thru the floor behind it...plum to my Guinea bone...
Unless its unavoidable, now isn't the time to buy any lumber...just got back from lowes,,,3/4 plywood is $50 a sheet...yikes... and my timber buyer buddy just told me its fixing to go up some more..

Re: Columbus..the 1957 IH 4x4..
Say WHAT? Holy crap I'm glad I finished closing the garage off earlier this year. I used 19/32 on everything. Structural plywood on the roof and 19/32 OSB sheeting on the sides.
Looks like the plywood I used on the roof has gone up +/-$5/sheet since January. That alone would have added +/-$350 to just the roof. I know how you feel. I had to replace the floor under our exterior french door... TWICE. Hence why I added the 30" overhang accent roof on back of house. The new tray I used also finally fixed it. Also, the entire sill behind my deck was completely rotted. Luckily the rot was limited to just the exterior board. I was able to remove it, let the interior boards dry out for a couple days, and install a new 2x12. Then I double flashed the new deck. I flashed the face completely then when the ledger for the deck was installed I flashed it again with a 90* going over the new ledger.

Well it took a lot, and I mean a lot of convincing to get them to call the insurance guy..they been paying insurance for 40 someodd yrs and didnt want to file a claim....manoman...adj is supposed to come look it over next week..I know they wont pay for all the work thatll need done but we'll see what they say..I did manage to get some new plywood down to cover up the hole and keep the possums outta the house...
And I found the sill rotted as well as the wall plates... It's starting to look major...havnt pulled any sheetrock yet to see how far it goes...

Re: Columbus..the 1957 IH 4x4..
Man that is my luck right there. A couple of years ago the wife tripped going to bed. The floor had buckled about a 1 foot circle a couple inches high. The builder used MDF over the sub floor which had gotten wet. The window AC drain leaked onto the window ledge and down the interior wall. I only had to rip out the drywall and insulation on 2 walls plus 3 sheets of subfloor to repair it. Not to mention scrubbing the walls with bleach and adding mold paint to the wall after drying. On the bright side she likes the new color.

Re: Columbus..the 1957 IH 4x4..
Well..we got the word from the insurance guy...not gonna pay a dime...they said it was a long term issue..they only would cover immediate damage...so...looks like for the next month or so I'll be doing kitchen duty...truck progress will be near nonexistent for a little while...

Re: Columbus..the 1957 IH 4x4..
Well.....
that didnt take long.... we've already got our 1st lost time accident on the kitchen redo.... My 82yr old Ma, with walking cast on her right foot, and a knee brace on her left knee, tripped over one of the boards i was using and fell flat on her face on concrete...tore all the skin off her nose, a big spot on her forehead, and one one her chin...bruises all over her face and 2 blackeyes.. I thought she was in a car wreck when I saw her....looks like somebody worked her over with a ax handle.. She cant stand sitting still, just go go go.. I've been telling her she needs to slow down... Good thing she's hard headed..haha
