This 1977 Chevrolet Camper Special is a great vehicle for those looking for a simple RV that will take you nearly anywhere. With the over-cab bunk and convertible dinette, it will comfortably sleep two but will sleep up to 4 when the need arises. The galley is equipped with a double sink, microwave, propane stove/oven, and RV fridge. There is a lot of storage in this truck, including the full-length closet. The upholstery on the dinette is original but with a homemade cover to keep it fresh, and the cabover is ready for a new mattress. The original bench seat in the cab is comfortable, and there are mounts under the front bumper for a custom carrying rack that currently has a BBQ attached. This 1977 Camper Special is rated with an 8,200 lb GVWR. Air Bag suspension was added, which is reported to raise the GVWR to 10,000. A maintenance log kept current from 2010, documenting nearly all work done to the vehicle. The roof was resealed in Spring 2022. "Square Body" Long Bed. 350/350 ( 350 engine / turbo 350 transmission). 42,xxx miles showing, but it could be 142,xxx miles. A lot of original parts might suggest 42,xxx miles. Looks , runs and drives great. Daily driver. Power steering, power brakes, factory AC ( works just fine). Most of the mechanicals have been redone over the years as needed. Backup camera added to add a bit of technology. We know some of the history of the truck but not from the beginning , so some of this has to be a guessing game. What we do know is the engine was replaced a while back, newer carburetor , and most other mechanical stuff has been redone. Things you'd expect to replace on a 45 year old vehicle no matter how many miles. Just from age alone. Truck came from Wisconsin originally but I don't feel it was ever used in the winter time and subjected to salt on the roads. Frame is solid and so is the body. A little bit of surface rust here and there but no holes or "rot". Very minor. Truck looks, runs and drives great. Very clean inside and out. Nice sounding exhaust, not obnoxious , just right. The nicest Chevrolet C10 you’ll ever see. I have been babying this truck for about 30 years, and it’s time for someone else to enjoy it. It almost looks like it just rolled off the assembly line. 8 foot bed. Straight 6 cylinder engine, 3 speed manual column shift (“3 on the tree”) transmission. This truck has 30,330 original miles – that’s it. This is basically in stock condition-original engine and drivetrain. Some OEM Silverado cosmetic upgrades included-front grille, body side molding, and headlight/taillight bezels. Beautifully maintained inside and out. Carmine red exterior (was repainted in the original factory color several years ago), hood bug deflector painted in body color, NO RUST. Interior has gorgeous re-covered vinyl bench seat, reproduction urethane dashboard, new carpeting and Husky floor liners. Sliding rear window, new battery and tires. Retrosound AM/FM radio with Bluetooth. The fantastic York Load-Lok drop-in bedliner had multiple deep slots for 2X4’s or cargo bars to secure your load. 6 No-drill stainless steel pop-up anchor points are mounted in the rail stake pockets. Wireless backup camera with screen tucked into the empty pocket in the dashboard with no modifications to the dash bezel. No issues-everything works perfectly. Runs great and looks incredible.
