Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"

I believe all the 2wd (not sure about 4wd) have the wheel just a tad farther back I'm the wheel opening can't be much maybe 1" maybe 1/2" but it's there, and I figure if I'm gonna change the spindle I might as well get on of those centering ones and change that while I'm already there.

As for progress.... I bought 4 new tires and put the tires on the 16's and I just put the 16's on today... It is a very subtle difference, but it looks very cool I feel the 16" steelies fits better with the size of the truck..

Hey Rick,
I don't believe that any spindle will center the wheel. I went with PB controll arms that are 1" forward. You could try this http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=501241

Ahh that's what it is, it's not the spindles it's the control arms that you have to mod... Ok well I have more research to do now..

As soon as I get my hands on a computer I'll try and posts up some pics of the 67 with the 16's

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"

well there was a local car show so i took the truck down.. theres this 63 d100 there that this guy built so far im one of the only people to have pictures of it, its a super cool truck its basically all chevy except the body... anyways theres a picture of the new tailgate (still need to do the white letters) and i went out and put my buddy bucket cab brace back in. my sister had a little boy last august... every chance i get i take im out in the garage or the 67! got to start him young and plant the seed and the little mini bike project i have...

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"

a started making a little sign for fun.. and ive come up with a plan, im going to start building another front clip for this truck (just inner fenders and a radiator support) to have powder coated, i will also do 'body work" to the parts, i will smooth and fill any uneeded holes in them and haver them done in a semi gloss black like the factory did i already have a really nice and straight 67 driver inner fender (kinda cool that its 67 even thought it doesnt make a bit of difference)

Why don't you have your hubcaps on? Those wheels are hard to tell but the tires due add some height...but I think it looks good

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"

The larger wheels help match the size of the body and looks a little better I think. But yeah since it's still a black steelies to most people they won't suspect that is what looks different about the truck but in person you can tell something is just different

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"

wire wheelin the drip rails today, figure its perfect shouldnt get any rain for the next couple of months, gives me a nice amount of time to get them cleaned, primed and then get them resealed before it starts raining. probably going to have to sand down the top and put it in primer.

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"

Well I've been thinking quite a bit and I have a new set of plans for the truck. (I know I'm constantly changing my mind... At least with every mind change i perfect the truck just that much more... Well at least I think so) so I have a list made up of what I all need and where to get it so there should be quite a bit of work getting done in the near future. Since this build thread is so dead anyways it won't hurt if I keep it a surprise til I'm done.

Well let's just say there's some steel going to get taken off of the frame and some more steel put in it's place and it's going to look a lot better then it does already

Trucks looking good, a set of Porterbuilt forward control arms will center your wheels nicely. Can't wait to see what you plan to do to the suspension.
