I wish the tooling was still around to make that rail stock. Especially the corners

Right, I can see what looks like the side emblem of where a '65 emblem would be located as well as seeing no emblem where the '64 and '66 emblem would be at.

The Orange Dodge sounds great. If the other truck has a Detroit, I can't even hear it.

I believe I posted this video in the Detroit Diesel Videos thread. Probably the twin 6" straight stacks drowned out the muffled truck. It would be nice to know what is in each truck. I assumed both had Detroits

Dual purpose push truck/hoist counterweight. It would suck if something still found it's way through to poke the radiator. Pretty cool old IH R-model.

Here is a close up of the grille. Did FWD's use International cabs?

I took pictures of a couple FWD's a few years back and it was stated by a couple members that FWD may have used a few different brands cabs over the years, also maybe depending on geographic location or something.

Impressive Ford.

Not my brand but a fine example of a nice 750.

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

Sometimes condition over make is in order. I would have liked to see an original 391 with 4BBL Holley under the hood ( those things are brutes ) and a little less gingerbread ( wheel simulators, rear fenders and tool box ) but, like you said Bill, it is impressive in this day and age to see this model ( not as common as the 2ton F 600) in turn key condition. Before 1966, Ford truck engine valve covers were painted all different colors, black, white, silver, gold and red, a few that I'm aware of.

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

I lived on a farm that had a '66 F650 flatbed I liked to drive. Hauled hay mostly.

I just searched and only got the late model trucks. But I did find this slightly newer MD Ford. I'm not a fan of large pickups but this one does look kinda neat. I'd like it better with a wrecker rig in the bed

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

I've worked in a neighborhood where there is a super clean early 90's Dodge with a cummins diesel. Every so often the guy pulls up in a totally cherry 1960 F350 flatbed with a signature Turbo Cummins sound coming from it. Both are VERY nice trucks. I really need to ask him the details.

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

Had some driveway work done and the contractor who's company has been in business for 50 years showed up still using a '58 Ford 1 ton for dirt and gravel runs. These old heavy duty 1 ton trucks can still can earn their keep and be money makers for local work, just can't do this with a 1/2 ton.

I think you'll like this one. I'm betting this one is the extra heavy 6500 with the 478.

She's a beauty.

A '62 6500 with the Chrome package to boot.

Will have the 478 for sure.
