Well...I was just going to start with the headlight rebuild and ended up here. Guess I'll do a frame off now. Ha!

Was there 4+ years ago, still there. I've just recently started back at it. We were just going to replace rocker panels and got into a full frame off.
But we are gaining. Stay with it, a little each day and soon it'll be done.
Best of luck!

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III

Took 7" out of the original '65 12-bolt and installed a pair of Moser 7950 housing ends. These ends retain the stock brake mounting pattern while converting to the big Ford 3.15" axle bearings and retainer plates, thereby eliminating the need for C-clips.

The housing is now 50" end to end. It was 57" originally; already 1-1/2" narrower than the later truck 12-bolts.

-15C (5F) so I just plugged it in and came in for a coffee. Today it gets to drop a stove off at the recyclers. It will be interesting to learn how she handles the fresh snow without the aid of positrac.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III

I have the front on jack stands with the drum brakes torn apart. Wheel cylinder on front right was leaking. Both drums on front were originals and time for new drums and internals.

I just bought the 64 c10 on Tuesday.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III

I detailed the 6cyl & 3spd that I took out of the 65 truck im building for my friend James and I put it in my 65 truck .
his truck gets the 350 & th350 that was in my truck.
my truck was his parts truck , so I get all the leftover scrap parts to build mine with .
I spray canned the fender the same red that I did the engine with to see how the truck would look red.

backpayne your truck looks great , I like the paint ..

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III

Well I said I wanted it rolling by Christmas and well it's rolling . I still need to fit the rear shoes and rear wheel cylinders , but I have spoken to Don and he is getting me the rear Spring kit .

Well after I pushed it outside , i decided to get the engine in place

The next job is to fabricate a mount for the TH350 auto box so the engine is in and the box will have to follow . I have already got the later 66 park brake cables so I can do away with the canter leaver system on the 65 .

Now I see you must be my long lost brother in England. We both have a 1965 and I see you have the EXACT same wheels. I know those beautiful slots are from a 1970's Jeep Wagoneer (just like mine) and have the 3 small holes where the center cap screws onto the wheel. Very nice indeed!

I love the grey frame paint. Also, wow, impressive amount of pulleys in that front view

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III

Popped out the windshield and back glass. Question, is there any way to fix some 'foggy' sections in the glass? The spots are mostly near the edges and it seems like there might be coating that has leaked.

After that, I blasted and epoxy primered the cowls, front intake vent area and some patch panels for the front fenders. I mostly just did the patch panels to test some factory paint colours.

Also, I found some rust hidden under the rain gutters seam sealer on my replacement cab. i guess I'm learning how to do lead body filling now. <womp womp>

Unfortunately, that is in the layers of the glass and the only way I know of is to replace the glass.
