Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion
Mr.Roo is the man!
It's on like Donkey Kong! I have my joints, tube ends, and track bar stuff coming. DOM is ordered too. I also dug my air bags out of storage. Now to steal my brother's air tank.

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion
Today i fitted the 4x4 and started placement of the hitch. I need to go buy more clamps I see. This is just close. I will remove it and prep the frame before final fitting.
I also dug my air bags out. I've had these for a while and I almost lost them............... My storage building is getting infested with ground hogs. Those little SOB's have the dirt floor all sorts of rearranged. To the point that one of the air bags is missing. I had a box of 4 sitting on the floor, now, there is no box and 3 air bags. I'll be getting the shovel and pistol out this weekend........................ Needs a little cleaning.

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion
I'm afraid if I do that, the building will be leveled.

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion
I'm just going to be doing air horns on the 96 Dodge. And if we end up getting the "new" truck for the gf, it will end up with air horns and more than likely air ride as it sits on 19.5s... But both of those trucks will have 2 34"*8" air tanks. May have to invest in a few Viair compressors.

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion
sounds like you might need a few. have you looked at oasis compressors? they aint cheap but they make a lot of air.

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion
i seen some engine driven aircon compressors that could be adapted to move air
they where mounted on some types of the older type of volvo's the one you need is selflubricating , it might be a nice add on and have one electric compressor for when the engine doesnt run maibe a semitruck type engine compressor would work too DAF did fut those to cummins motors and im sure petebilt and others did too

Just take out one of your injectors and run an air line from there!

Do you have room for a York?? Hell, Autoworld probably has a bolt-on bracket for it. Bang for the buck, it can't be beat. I did not have room or I'd have one on my truck. I was even trying to engineer a pto driven setup that used a York compressor to get it out of the engine compartment, but the time came that I needed OBA and I wasn't far enough along in the engineering process to make it a feasible option so I went electric. A York with a tank on it would allow you to get rid of your shop compressor. LOL.
