Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
Dana 60 front end is 1 ton and is worth half the asking price. I agree, I looked at all angles for the possibility it was cut down too...cant believe it was a 2wd title to boot, what a fool that bought that....you couldn't even part it out and recoup the asking price.

This truck has the 396 big block and auto transmission. I will not part this truck out so don't ask. Make me an offer"

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
Someone save this one please! You can tell it is an import, nothing this good that's native ever shows up in western PA. Could it really be an unmolested survivor? Gotta love white/ochre/white/ochre also.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
not quite convinced it's as untouched as advertised (a Cheyenne would have had the woodgrain tailgate), but agree it is a nice truck. Not a bad price if it's fairly rust free.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
Windshield gasket was replaced and no sign of SS trim. I will have learned something new if that rear bumper is original. Shouldn't a Cheyenne glove box door have trim, and the cluster bezel be wood grain? Front bed panel looks jacked up. Other than that, probably worth a look for someone.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
Nope, those are Cheyenne Super items. Cheyenne would have had black instrument bezel, painted gb door with no emblems, woodgrain only on door panels, lower belt molding, and tailgate band.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
Thanks Jocko. All Cheyennes had lower belt moldings? Upper belts an option I suppose.

GMC
Wonder what goodies it has? AC? BB? Tilt? Tach? AM-FM? Buckets? Maybe none, but it's always a treasure hunt. |

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
Correct, lower belt moldings with woodgrain were part of the Cheyenne package, upper side molding was optional. Below the Cheyenne trim level (Custom Deluxe), lower and upper belt moldings were optional and lowers were normally black rather than woodgrain - however, there are several documented highlanders with woodgrain lower belt molding (they were Custom Deluxe trucks only). Above the Cheyenne level (Cheyenne Super), the lower and upper moldings were included and the lowers were woodgrain, like a Cheyenne (and the dash and gb door woodgrain was added, among other gizmos like bright tailgate handle, etc.)

No doubt the Supers were loaded. My 72 doesn't have the bright handle (they put the tailgate through a lot of work). The only piece of exterior chrome besides the bumper that's not pitted is trim that runs down the middle of the hood. The truck has all the things you mentioned, and roof lights, cargo light headliner, etc...........I believe a stock plush bench with chrome trim (far more comfortable than the common bench) - Edit, stock, option 610...............There are some buttons on front of the cab, which I understand is for a canvas. With the BB and two-tone deluxe blues, it had to be remarkable rolling off the dealership. Today it's just a driver needing brakes and front tires. Good to know the holes for the upper and lower belts must be stock. Nice reference for my 71.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
I prefer the Cheyenne Super seat and flooring and the Custom Deluxe door panels and glove box (don't like the fake wood grain!).
