Re: How to: Ruin a perfectly good C10
Stripped and recoated the Belltechs in my custom aluminum A-frame paint booth. Also hung the uppers and the new CPP rack. Waiting on paint to cure, press lower BJs, then get her back on her feet!

Thanks! Spindles on, brakes and tie-rods next, then back on the ground

Re: How to: Ruin a perfectly good C10
Got the Kore3 C5 brakes back on, snugged all the bolts, and set her on the ground. Found out my 5/8” drill bit is bent, so tie-rods will have to wait. Suspension should drop another inch or so with weight, but I’m thinking I want it lower...

Thanks guys! Good to have it back on the ground, if only for a bit. I’ll put it back up on the crib stands soon to work the underneath bits. But first, it’s rust repair time...

Re: How to: Ruin a perfectly good C10
Decided it needed more low, so I built a set of 1” blocks for the rear...

Re: How to: Ruin a perfectly good C10
...and re-drilled the front lower coilover mounts 1” lower. It should sit around 5” ride height as measured at the frame under the cab. That’ll do

Should sit really nice. Danny's truck (Painter D) sits perfect. I'm betting yours will be the same. That LS is kind of dirty.....

Re: How to: Ruin a perfectly good C10
Thanks! Just trying to keep up with the herd, haha
I couldn’t wait either, had to hang a fender... I love the look of Danny’s truck. I’m probably an inch or so higher than he is, based on info he’s provided me. I think I’m ok with that, but I’ve also been strongly considering the PB bolt on body drop...

Re: How to: Ruin a perfectly good C10
...and the payoff: Sits about like an aired-out stock suspension, but with tons of ground clearance and full lock-to-lock steering. 4.5” at the front cab mount, 5” at the rear, which is approx 3” lower than where I started. Guess I can start calling it a 9/11 static drop

Re: How to: Ruin a perfectly good C10
Feels like a good height to me. If I remember correctly, your rear shock mounts should accommodate a coilover, too.

Re: How to: Ruin a perfectly good C10
Correct. The shock length is the same for the C10 & G-body rear set-ups. I'll just need to fab some lower brackets.
