Like I said, I had no idea. I was just going by what the guys at Discount tire, a little local shop, and the parts counter said. I guess all three of these guys were wrong.

Sand them out and buff them up. The aluminum will shine, if it is so

Man, who know?!?!? How are you with body work???

Between the 105+ degree heat, my first son being born a few weeks ago, and me having more projects going at once than I have money, time, and sense for (some of them not truck related) it could be a little while. I have basically everything gathered parts-wise and the shop about halfway done, but rest assured eventually the LQ4-K5 will be finished!

Re: The Great Critter Revival ‘09

Im doing body work for the first time now on my gmc so im not very good yet and I haven't started on any of the hard stuff so ill see how that goes. I here ya with the heat but today was actually pretty nice for a first, and I also have tons of projects that aren't even close to being completed (and nowhere near enough money to complete them)

Re: The Great Critter Revival ‘09

I'm bringing your build back from the dead. After PM'ing the other day about the cool "8-364" badge in your avatar, I had to look you up. I found your build thread. Not only is your truck dark green, but you are bolting-in a 6.0L engine. BTW - my truck is dark green and I would love to stab-in either a LQ9 of L92, complete with updated auto and crawler case.

So, now that I am subscribing, you gotta post some updates.

How's the shop? How's the blazer? How's the drivetrain?

Re: The Great Critter Revival ‘09

I'm kinda approaching this as "the drive train Chevy SHOULD have built". Hopefully it works out.

I have a lot more working in the background, but maybe those pics will hold you over for a little while till I can get caught up on a few things. Eventually I will get some stuff posted that is REALLY worth seeing.

Nice work gather parts Critter, I was hoping to see some pics of the near finished shop too. But hey, just glad to hear you're still working on it. Keep it up!

Re: The Great Critter Revival ‘09

Sorry to hear about the setbacks Critter. Such is life, huh? Well, know that I am excited for your build as you are going down the road I will drive down too (modern engine, one ton running gear). Guess I should remove the plastic from atop my dana 60 and 14 bolt and get to rebuilding.

Oooooooooh...that may be an option. Thanks! I have decided that I am going to do my best to actually make these emblems, or at least pay someone else to do it. I think it's the fine details like that that really make a nice vehicle, plus I like to see if other people knotice that kind of stuff when I pull up somewhere.

Re: The Great Critter Revival ‘09

It will be awesome for sure! I think it would take people a while to notice, but when they did, they would flip their lid. IMO, it's the subtle changes you make that most people won't notice, yet add to the style, that are the best.

Slacking on the blazer...yes, unfortunately I am. Too much other stuff going on a the moment. I haven't completely stopped, just taken me longer on this d@mn shop than I had ever imagined. It is fully enclosed except for the garage doors. I finally have them all framed, a 16'x7.5' door and a 8'x7.5' door for the garage, also an 8'x8' rollup off the side of the shop. They had to special order the garage doors because of the odd height, but I should have them here and installed around the first of the year. At that point the building will be FULLY ENCLOSED! FINALLY! As far as the blazer goes, I have been on the hunt for an 8 lug dana 44/corp 10 bolt to put under the front or at least use to convert my 6 lug D44. They are proving much more difficult to find (locally) than I had imagined. I have run across a few but nobody wants to part with them. It is easier to find a D60 I think!

I was just messing with ya, ive been slacking on my truck lately.

Would you be interested in a big hub D44? I know someone who might let one go.
