Do you have a good contact for C30 and/or Custom30 fender emblems? If you do please post on my (1970 C30 flat bed delivery) post.

Here's my big girl as found on the side of the road. So far I have rounded up doors, hood, cowl, buckets & console, cab lights, and dualled it out to the back with turbo mufflers.

Re: 1 ton dually pics post

Here is my '70 GMC 1 ton with the later model wheels I just got for it at the local Pull-A-Part. I also just picked up an NV4500 5 speed at P-A-P that I am going to put in it. That way, I can drive it on the highway at the speed limit without turning the engine at 5000 rpm all the time (4:10 rear end).

Slomotion I'm highly jealous of you and that beautiful flatbed, I let a 67 c20 dually flatbed slip away and pics of your truck just tease me with what I could have built one day

Re: 1 ton dually pics post

Thank you 69C. You'll find another one. I found this one tucked back under a lean-to with only the right headlight and two feet of bumper showing. For several weeks everytime I drove by I'd look to see if it was still there. One day I got the courage to stop and check it out (it was about 150 yards off the road,) and was surprised at what it was. I was expecting to find a pickup, but thought it would be fun to build something a little out of the mainstream.
Keep hunting, you'll find one out there somewhere.

Is the NV4500 a direct bolt in? Will you need to cut down the drive shaft?

Trucks72, that is sweet.

farmal, can you post some side view shots of your truck? I'm interested to see how those side tanks look with the long wheelsbase. Thx

Re: 1 ton dually pics post

I recently picked up a '72 1-Ton, although it's currently being set up for a '67/'68 front clip, and I have a question for some of you. Concerning fuel tanks, it looks like farmall has some side tanks. MYGMCANDME and farmtrucks, I can't really tell where the fuel tank is, as least in these pictures. trucks72, you have a really nice looking lift-bed and tool box on the driver's side. Is that another tool box on the passenger side? And, if so, where is your fuel tank. I'm just curious, the fuel tank style and location is just one of many questions I'm sure I'm going to have in the near future. I'll have to add a picture of my 1-Ton when I get to the house!

Re: 1 ton dually pics post

Good looking trucks!

Concerning the fuel tanks, and this is strictly my opinion, I had two round (barrel-shaped) beer kegs that I was going to polish and mount under my bed where the tool boxes are. I was going to make up lines where I could draw from either tank with a switching valve mounted in the cab by the seat. Having driven trucks for years and seeing thousands of trucks with the fuel tanks mounted behind the cab outside of the frame rails I thought it was just a natural place to put them. But it dawned on me one day, that diesel is much harder to ignite than gasoline. Diesel would probably put out a spark in an accident, where gas would just blow if there were any leakage at all.
Short of building a cage for the tank, and a fuel cell like the race cars use, I'm under the impression that 20 gallons of gas hanging out there with no protection is problematic.
I'm not trying to rain on any ones parade, and I don't want to offend any one, I just want to point out the potential for a serious hazard. Just my $.02
