Re: Thanks for asking.....here is project: Patina'd

Man....this has not been the year for the truck. I think I have taking it out maybe 5 times. Ever since I got this stupid Camaro, that has been my focus all summer. Car has a LONG ways to go to but as of last weekend it moves under its own power. My truck did have a cameo in the new CARS II movie though!

Man you have one AWESOME truck!!!! I'm gettin ready to start the body work on my '69 & the bed is where I'm gonna start. I'm runnin a .030 454 but I'm gonna stick to my single 750 for now, my wallet is a little thin for those dual carbs!

Re: Thanks for asking.....here is project: Patina'd

The good news is that a single carb will almost always out perform a dual carb setup. My truck did run a little harder with the 1x4. That mod was strickly for visual appeal. It's not just the carbs either. You have the cleaner, linkage and plumbing that makes it even more $$$ along with the intake you choose. It will certainly be my only dual 4 setup.

Have fun with your build. Least you have the right power plant!

Re: Thanks for asking.....here is project: Patina'd

Thanks feller, I'm tryin to find my rear wheels at the moment then on to the wood bed. You say you're runnin 15X14 with 8.5 bs? I've got Pacer Drag Stars on my truck now & would like to keep the fronts but I'm havin a problem findin 15X14 in a wheel that looks like the Pacer wheel as Pacer does not nor will not sell me the size I need. I found the WELD ProStar in a 15X14 but they only went up to a 7.5 bs. I can get a 15X12 with a 7.5 bs & run a radial tire. Do you think that would fill the rear up & still tuck? I know the radial tire pooches out from the wheel where the M/T Sportsmans kinda stay even with the wheel. I'm goin for the Pro Street look & have already bought my fuel cell with foam & 0-90 ohm sender to mount in the bed along with my new Exide gel battery. I'm gonna do a build thread when we get started but my buddy has to finish a '71 Olds before we can start on mine. Keep up the dang good work you've been doin & i'll be watchin your build closely.

Backspacing was 6.5". You could even run a little more and I would to get the tire under there a tad more. Remember you can't run the 12s without opening up the bed and you have to go over the right amount so your wells will sit flush. Once this is done you can run a 6.5, 7.5 or even an 8.5 backspacing.

Yes....both sets of wheels were built by Early Wheel in SoCal. They will custom set your BS and are very well priced.

LOL.....why does no one else see this?

What I have done is stuff that I believe anyone can do if they take their time. Now that I have my Millermatic 180, the sky is the limit.

There are some boys and girls on here that make me look like a high school auto shop dropout.
