Nice work!
Thanks!

Nothing to ground breaking, just a whole lot of planning and work... All this fits under the stock bed floor, one of my wants going into it, I wanted to keep it at stock level.

Re: Putting Camaro front in 55 second gen

DaveO, Thanks for the advise on the Lokar shifter. I purchased one off Evil Bay and it bolted right up, very Simple. Now I'm trying to hook up my steering shaft and need to know what u joint you used. I noticed it in your pic of the trans linkage (BLACK U JOINT). I have a GM column and firebird frontend like you.
I've got a lot of great ideas from you! thanks' IN ADVANCE.

Re: Putting Camaro front in 55 second gen

I used these guys stuff on my Chevelle clip.
Very nice quality parts.
Easy to deal with and very knowledgeable.
They have different sets depending on what year Camaro you have.

Damn, those things are pricey!

Blasted the frame, rear end and all suspension components... Frame is in the booth!

Re: Putting Camaro front in 55 second gen

That looks great. I have just wiped my frame down once more and hope to be priming in the next couple of days. Hoping for it to warm up a bit first.

I am spraying Eastwood epoxy primer then their ceramic chassis coating.

Just about all the small parts are disassembled and ready also.

The only reason you need not to buy china fittings, These are both -6 an, which one would you rather have feeding your fuel lines....

Tank in, rear end mounted, front suspension together, spent the last 2 hours power washing the engine.... As soon as I get the oil pan modified, its going in!

That all looks real good.

I hope to be there soon but still need to get second coat of frame paint completed.

Must be exciting to actually be building!

Thanks!

It runs! All plumbed up, even the steering. Spun it a couple times to build up oil pressure, primed the fuel pump 5 or 6 times, hit the ignition and fired instantly! No leaks anywhere, no hiccups! On to permanent wiring and the body!

Blasted! I spent a lot of time getting under the dash, inside hinge posts and cowl...The only big suprise was the rt front floor (last pic). Not a huge deal though...

Re: Putting Camaro front in 55 second gen

Looking really good - you are knocking this thing out!~ its goes pretty quick once you have all the parts and everything painted. I used the QA-1 front parts on my Camaro clip. Mines about where you are now too.

Keep it up!

Re: Putting Camaro front in 55 second gen

Before I weld the top of the bed sides shut, I decided to put some removable eyes for tie downs. I probably wont use them much so I made it so I can just leave them out....I put 2 in each corner, 8 total.

Also got the front panel and rear cross sill temporary bolted on, bedsides squared up.
