Re: 67-72 cab corner 6x9 speaker brackets

Here's a few pictures of mine installed. I had to drill some wider spaced holes for the passenger's side lower adjustable bracket, but other than that everything installed fairly easily.

PS Should I drill a hole to allow air to escape from the back side????

Re: 67-72 cab corner 6x9 speaker brackets

Rob, your install looks great! You wouldn't have any pics showing the modification to the lower bracket would you? I am surprised one side had to be modified and not the other, all four brackets are the same, 2 bent one way 2 bent the other.

As far as ventilation, I am not sure. If anyone can chime in I would appreciate it. If I need t provide baffles, so be it...I will do that. I would just like to know. I do know these are not air tight, but kind of close.

Thank you for the pictures and feedback once again.

Re: 67-72 cab corner 6x9 speaker brackets

No need to put relief holes in, actually the tighter you can seal them to prevent any air from going in or out, the better as you will get better sound quality and volume out of them.

Tom - There's an deep indention in the floor pan on the passengers side that kept me from using the original two vertical holes. I think it's the storage location for the jack. All I had to do was to move those two vertical holes out about 3/4" so I could catch the flat part of the floor. Here's a some pictures of the indention.

Re: 67-72 cab corner 6x9 speaker brackets

Thanks for the pictures. Let me make sure I understand what you had to do...

On the "L" bracket, the one that mounts to the floor. You had to move both floor mounting holes out 3/4" per side on only the passenger side...correct? The slotted holes on the "L" bracket were fine, as were the corresponding holes on the speaker bracket itself right?

Thanks for the feedback, I will update the next batch I make to reflect this. I am glad this is an easy fix and doesn't affect the overall install, or so it seems.
