Re: Project "Popeye"
I sent the spider caps back and just used bullet lug nuts and bullet caps (shannon cones) they were only like $25 shipped and look great. I'm just waiting for my 2nd set of Diamondbacks to get here then I'll mount and get some pics, I think they're going to look great. The new tires are going to be 235/70/15, I was wrong in my last post.

HAHA I know the feeling, I was gathering receipts last night for a budget check. What size tires were on those Cragars?

Re: Project "Popeye"
got a line on a 6.0 out of a 2000 suburban with 60K miles for $500.not sure if thats the way i want to go.i think the wiring harness will be spendy.what are you planning on using if you use your motor.

Re: Project "Popeye"
I'd go with the 6.0, it's getting much easier and cheaper to have a harness made and ecm tuned. You supply the harness and they make it stand alone with usually a 4 wire hook-up. You get a small fuse block with relays and it's pretty much plug-and-play. Wait4meperformance does it for about $360 last I checked. There's a bunch of tutorials about doing it yourself too. Plus consider they are virtually maintenance-free. No setting valve lash, oil leaks, distributors to wear out, etc.
I converted to carb just for looks and simplicity on mine. I have a Edelbrock LS1 Victor Jr Carb intake, MSD 6010 controller and Barry Grant Demon 650. I love the idea of setting timing with my computer. I am going to use the 5.3, I must have been off my meds the other night when I considered swapping for the 350 in my '71. Word of caution you will have to change out the oil pan, right now mine is by far the lowest point in the front. I picked up an F-body pan cheap but typically the whole set up runs about $250.

Very nice, hate to know what that cost ya I got a visor last week, it's not a Fulton but it works fine and it was $60. It's adjustable, I'll get some pics.

Re: Project "Popeye"
I am liking it alot, what tranny you using? Rear end?
did you have to move the cab back or forward with your set up? Seems like you didn't have to since the running boards seemed aligned. I went the s-10 frame route, but have an OG frame I am wanted to go the same route you went.

Aired out, sits about 3" off the ground, I think I'm just gonna leave it and not mess with trying to go lower:
