I'm enjoying the thinking and the execution of your thought processes. Cool to keep the yesteryear vibe but also have it be capable of serious performance. Kind of hard to hide that giant "power steering pump" you've got there, but even under the hood looks mostly era correct.

Thanks I tell my co workers at Procharger its an engine air conditioner..... but I'm drawing a lot of inspiration from the late 60's early 70s when they had all those wild factory experimental engines on the cover of car mags.

If I could kill an M22 with a 327 I'd be willing to bet it won't last long! lol

Re: The Wrong Bed C10 build

With a couple days off for Christmas, I was able to get the blow shield indexed and fit up with the clutch and flywheel. Then took the opportunity to swing the motor back into the chassis. Now time to start getting it back together.

Re: The Wrong Bed C10 build

Did some work over the holidays to get the truck almost ready to fire up. The blower is tucked in and low key which is quite nice but I'm really excited to hear how it sounds.

Re: The Wrong Bed C10 build

Ended up pulling the front seat out of the truck to reupholster it with what was supposed to be the original burgundy but ended up being to light, so this snow balled into doing the whole interior over and listing the original parts but the truck looks good

Re: The Wrong Bed C10 build

With the interior overhauled. I ended up finishing up under the hood and picking up my new 2 piece drive shaft with billet yokes, 1350 u-joints, and 3.5" chromoly tube. They said rated for 1200hp we will see, next step is going to be a 9" in the rear. But otherwise its together ad ready for break-in and Dyno session.

The truck looks awesome from the interior to under the hood. The dog looks like it's ready to ride. Are you scared of breaking the 12 bolt? Go beat on that thing!

I know, I'm going to break it but oh well we will be using it first while building a 9" or dana 60 still undecided on that but the 12 bolts days are numbered.

Re: The Wrong Bed C10 build

Did a little more work to the truck after receiving a gift of a 66 Chevelle SS steering wheel. With getting the adapter I decided to disassemble the upper column and found a nearly perfect burgundy rattle can to match once the clear dries time to reassemble.

Re: The Wrong Bed C10 build

The steering column is all put back together and I have to say the Chevelle wheel looks great. you can see how I slid the oil cooler in behind the air scoop (there is a cut out) and how much space is a premium. Ended up running to my buddy's place as he hooked me up with a donor set of tubs as I will section these to add to my factory ones for the new tires (no more mud tires!!) planning to pick 375/60-15 tires

Re: The Wrong Bed C10 build

So I ended up getting the tires 375/60/15 and bought a pair of 15x10 us mags for the back. While waiting for them to arrive I went ahead on widening the tubs 3.5" and painting them and proceeding to patina them to match the bed. With the tires here waisted no time on getting the rims mounted up and fit. So I cant wait for the new fronts tires to arrive as I splurged and ordered custom 6" wide's for the front. Definitely going to achieve the north east muscle truck look I grew up with.
