Re: Project "Poison Ivy" 54 GMC

PICS PICS PICS!!! Front and back bumpers are on, I need to make a filler for between the rear bumper and the bed and the front bumper guards are still at the powder coat, (they are my favorite part of the front end!) exhaust is done, shocks are on the rear... Bed floor will be back in and mounted tonight.. Now on to finishing the trans tunnel, then time for the interior and audio system.. I have some great ideas for the fabrics and design.. The rear license plate location is kicking my a$$ a little but I might cut a box in to the rear bumper... Its gotta look like it belongs in my world.. Then its time to pull of some cool little detail items I have floating around in my head ...

Very cool love the truck. Can't wait to see what else you do. Have any pictures of what you did for front shock mounts. I have the stuff they sent me with the kit but no idea of how it goes.

That rear bumper is tucked up tight.
Hang the tag off the side of the bed like a old farm truck . just put one bolt in it so it hangs crooked

I agree with this, like a plate on a chopper, straight up and down off the box structure. Just make it quick disconnect for shows, the truck looks great.

My front shock mounts are still laying on shelf... I have not tackled them yet... The right side looked easy... the drivers side not so much.. I might make my own... I will keep you "posted"

Re: Project "Poison Ivy" 54 GMC

Bed floor is in, Wheel tubs are in, made a sheet metal piece for around the fuel filler neck and made a gas cap out of the original horn button... Worked on the trans tunnel too, it will be completed tonight and the floors will be ready for Dynamat.. Couple of pics for you all with "Ivy" hanging out with some friends in the shop..

Re: Project "Poison Ivy" 54 GMC

that'll work...up here they piss and moan over front plate too, funny how something that is mandatory for a vehicle doesn't look good on them. Must have been hard putting that first cut in.

It was hard putting all the cuts in... From what I learned it is made of spring steel... It wiped the teeth right off of the air saw blade first pass... All cutting wheel there!

I really like this truck. I like how even the new mods were aged. If I can find a 47-59 Burb that is in similar shape I would build it in a similar fashion.
