Re: Maggie's Custom
Small update. I took the bed rails, wood slat rails, and tubs out. Welded the two front bed rails together. Made some simple plates to mount the pump, tank, and valves too. And got the air bags mounted and the air lines run.
Still waiting on the correct ball joints to come from CPP, secound set they sent were wrong (miss bagged) and I'm also still waiting on my two steel wheels from Wheel Vintiques, its now been 9 weeks, I have been given a big run around by them, hoping to have the wheels in the next week. I'm going to wire the system up this week so it should be rollong soon! Thanks Jason |

Re: Maggie's Custom
Another small update.
I made some brackets to mount the sway bar end links to. Than mounted the sway bar, super simple, but I'll show some pics none the less! Brackets. Welded them to the control arms. Mounted the sway bar. And I got the rear wheels!!!! Pics coming. |

Re: Maggie's Custom
I painted the wheels while still at work yesterday, than mounted the tires late last night. Worked on the sway bar first thing this morning, than put the all the wheels on for the first time. I'm super happy with the results!!
Wheels mounted. First time on the ground with all the wheels! Rear shot. One more on the sway bar. I'm done for the day, hoping to get the air ride wired tomorrow! I want to set the bed and clip on sooon!!! Jason and Maggie |

Re: Maggie's Custom
Looking good. Keep an eye on that flat sway bar tab on the a-arm. Those things see a TON of pressure during cornering. You may want to brace it with some pieces angled up for support. You can't see the hole for the link in this picture, but look how heavy the sway bar mounting tab is on my Porterbuilt lower a-arm. Just some food for thought.

Re: Maggie's Custom
When I got home from work I trimed up the bed to clear the tires and had one of the guys from work (Chris) come over to help me get the bed on so Maggie could have a look!!! (I wanted to see too!)
I wanted a big tire on a 8 inch wheel, if I had it to do over I would go with a 5inch offset (this is 4 1/4), but this is the look I wanted!!! Jason and Maggie!! |
