Re: Pic Thread: PARTS!!

Some of ya'll have impressive collections of parts. I admire your dedication to salvaging all useable parts. Considering father time is catching up to all of us I hope you all have exit plans for clearing out your stashes and not just leave it up to the wife to have to dispose of it all. That's a chore most wives won't want and your cherished stash could very likely end up at a scrap iron yard if only because they just didn't know what to do with it all or just wanted it all gone quickly. We all hope to live long enough to manage it ourselves but what if? What's your exit strategy?

If something happens to me suddenly my wife and kids (3) have instructions to haul everything out in the yard (3 acres) and have an absolute auction. Everything sells to the highest bidder, no reserve on anything. Anything that doesn't sell goes to the scrap yard about 3 miles away. I hauled it all out of the barn and it took me about a week and a half by myself. Purchasers will have 30 days to remove the items they bought. I wouldn't think that would be a big burden.....

Since 2004 when I built my first truck. There was a salvage yard 2 miles from me that had 15 '67-'72 Chevy & GMC trucks in it. He kept getting trucks in until he closed a few years ago.

Thanks. Some good stuff there Eric! Do you sell parts on e-Bay? I haven't sold much on there, just a few small things.
