Re: PROJECT "Father/Son" C-20 Rolling Chassis Build

AWESOME!
The frame looks just great in silver vein. Was the clear coat on? Can't tell.
The 14 bolt in gloss black will match it perfectly. Nicely complimented by the chrome tank, watts link cover & arms.

The front rotors and calipers will be the last to be coated....the frame needs to be a roller again, then sent to the body-shop for cab, bed and panel fitment then paint.
-
-
Once it's back home, the final details will be added....

Re: PROJECT "Father/Son" C-20 Rolling Chassis Build

Well, I barely started the reassembly yesterday....With my wifes surgury, I have been busy with bringing home the bacon and cooking it too !!
-
-
Anyway, here are a few pics of the reassembly:
-
-

-

-

-

-

-
I used one of the old tires to pivot the frame up in the rear for axle install...

You can really see the dust on the frame in the pics (from hanging on the rack at the coaters)

Looks great! I like that powdercoat color. Very sweet! Just curious what did it cost to have your frame powdercoated?

Re: PROJECT "Father/Son" C-20 Rolling Chassis Build

Ya that is the "Silver-Vein". Typically I get them done for about $400-$475 for black, but this one I believe was a little more.

Rich should chime in soon and let you know....

Re: PROJECT "Father/Son" C-20 Rolling Chassis Build

The entire job includes the frame, trailing arms, front cross member, upper and lower A arms, spindles, suspension parts, 14 bolt housing & cover, rear calipers, rear axles, hubs, air bag cups, air tank, air tank brackets and many other hardware pieces. A three color scheme including black, chrome and silver vein. The chrome & silver vein pieces all required a clear coat. Total job was $1,800.

Re: PROJECT "Father/Son" C-20 Rolling Chassis Build

Glad you like the powdercoating.
Son, get a good education and you will have the money to spend on your hobby. If you like the frame you are gonna love the paint job we do. We are using the same shop that painted our 1969 Firebird restomodification project, that took 4 years to complete. And no, I won't tell you what this one cost to do.

A few items will get some attention later...the rusty alignment shims will be replaced and the steering box will get coated as well as the front rotors and calipers.
