didn't even notice that you had rims and tires on your trailer. ha ha... I guess that I was too distracted by your awesome rides.

As you 66 or older Burb guys know carpet is not to be found for these trucks. I ordered some loop carpet last week and delivered the truck to the upholstery guy who covered my seats. I just couldn't muster the talent to install carpet in this truck "professionally". The nice thing is they sent me carpet made for molding so a heat gun helps to form this carpet over uneven surfaces and the rest is handled by stitching. The back area is banded and will lay loose in the back or attached by velcro. I stopped by today and here is the progress. I am still hoping to take the Suburban to the Turkey Rod Run at the Daytona Motor Speedway next weekend. |

thanks Dino! I love the silver and satin black.....its just a great hot rod look they are out there. we were lucky this truck was in such good shape when I bought it. I really planned on selling this truck when I was done but now my wife wants me to keep it because she likes it. Trust me she could care less about most of my cars. |

Re: Mark's 66 Burb Build
As you 66 and older burb guys know there is not any aftermarket molded carpet available for these trucks. I can trim out carpet on flat surfaces but when it comes to the transmission hump and making the carpet look right forget about it. I purchased my automotive loop carpet online and had it shipped in. It did have a rubber backing on it I was told was used to mold carpet.......they heat up the carpet and press it on to a mold. I enlisted the guy who covered my seats to lay my carpet. He used a heat gun to mold the carpet around the transmission hump. He did a little stitching as well to make it fit. I ordered some black binding and as you can see after he cut the carpet he sewed this around the edges. He even ordered the rubber drivers side foot mat and sewed it in so I wouldnt wear out the carpet. The truck is in three pieces but it overlaps nice and looks like a factory job. I am extremely happy and would have never tried to tackle this on my own. I had around $300 in the carpet including shipping and he charged me $400 in labor to do the work.
next job, get some tunes in this truck!! |

I am not winning any audio awards with these but they fit pretty good. i am going to build a box later this week and hoping to fit two 12" subs in the back and a good amp to light them up. Good low end will make any mediocre system sound good |

Re: Mark's 66 Burb Build
I had the truck out of the garage today and I thought..........dude, you need to put some pictures of this truck on the forum so here they are. Minor bugs to work out but it is running and driving. My wife loves the truck and that is important as she normally does not really care about my cars. I hope you guys enjoy these photos. I know I have not documented the build as much as I should have but hopefully the pictures of the finished product inspires someone. I have my 69 c10 project we hope to get geared up on here in the next few weeks.
