Those look killer. I love the metal arm rest color is not black, really lets the upholstery stand out.

LOL Thanks man...that is funny, the upholstery guy just left them the original tan, so they don't match the upholstery (which is gray and orange)...I will be painting the arms a medium gray! But I agree, wouldn't look too good in black, with these colors. |

Now that you say that, I looked at it again and I can clearly see the beige color, lol. For some reason it looked metallic grey when I first saw it- tired eyes I guess.

Thank you those are the original wheel covers. I thought the tires look good with the black wall out and the chrome hub caps.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?
Thanks RW. I also like the ones on your newest Blazer. A little acid and they'll really stand out.
Alex, looking at yours is making me have to get out the compound!

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?
Got my new engine out of the crate today and started preping it for installation. It's going in black with some nice corvette valve covers, KN airfilter, pertronix ignition.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?
Got my Parkerized hood hinges installed today. The hood pops open nice and sits perfect in the back now. I think years of dried lithium grease were working against me on the old hinges.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?
Came home Wed night to find this POS 72 Jimmy in my driveway. Got it for parts for my 72 K5. Had the motivation to see if I could get it running. It had been sitting since 2001, well after pulling the points and dropping in an HEI and a fuel can. IT RUNS !!!!! Well you know what that meant.......reverse check, forward check, brakes check. IT DROVE !!!!!!!! ugh ! now I don't want to part it. I really hate this hobby.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?
Took a break from the Jimmy and got a few things bolted on the K5. Pretty much going shopping in my stash of parts to make this a summer toy / future project. Need to get the pass side door hung tonight.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?
I dig that 67 front end, I almost went that way on my 72 as well.
I got the tub, rockers and dash painted earlier this week. I'm still blocking the front fenders and doors. I should have them painted by early next week. I'm doing the inside floors with color matched Rhino Liner under my floor coverings to help eliminate road noise.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?
On my 70 I swapped the 2bbl intake for a 4bbl, changed to the correct valve covers and got the pass side rocker box reinforcement plate in. Next Ill tackle the rear pillar and get the rocker panel in.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?
Hey Pete thanks for the bump!! I forgot about this thread....
Well finally got a weekend this summer where we actually stayed home!!! (Something always to do during the summer time in Michigan) Finally got the roll cage to fit under the double wall hard top and the Softtopper. Welded that up solid last night!! fab'd up roll cage to fame connectors this morning for the four rear posts. And last but not least painted under the cab floor where both rocker boxes will go. So maybe tonight I will be able to weld them back into place!!!! We will see.... |

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?
Thanks for posting. Very nice job on the roll cage! Not sure this applies to you but I've seen guys who often off-road in sand (dunes) weld plates across the top to keep from sinking in if the truck rolls.
