Re: "Old Olive" 1970 C10 porterbuilt build

Looks great. I'm jealous! Wish I had taken more time building my truck. Love that Porterbuilt front cross member setup.

Love to see another Olive brethren. Especially one that looks like yours.

Bad ass build, I can't wait to see it finished. Good call on getting those Pirelli's before you started your build. Pirelli just discontinued them. I've been trying to find a set.

Re: "Old Olive" 1970 C10 porterbuilt build

You could cut that piece out, flip it & weld it back in? I'd just cut it out and weld in a replacement piece since it's between the mounting points for the PB mega crossmember. Looks WICKED by the way.

Re: "Old Olive" 1970 C10 porterbuilt build

Got the rear Porterbuilt 24x15 frame notch in! Fit in great. A lot of welding on this one. Basically a half frame after is all done, only a little of the original frame left past the rear cab mounts. Coming along!

Re: "Old Olive" 1970 C10 porterbuilt build

Got the narrowed axle back and mocked up with the trailing arms, bag mounts, and watts link started. Stuck a wheel up to check and it's perfect.

Re: "Old Olive" 1970 C10 porterbuilt build

Got my 2 piece driveline back and started mocking up angles.

Question for the porterbuilt or airbag guys. Do I weld on the lower bag mounts to be parallel with the upper mounts at full drop, ride height or full up? To me it makes the most sense to have them parallel at full drop since they'll only be 4" apart. Thoughts?

You should have a moderator move this to the "67-72 projects and builds" section. It'll get more exposure there, I almost missed it myself. This build deserves to be seen!

Click on the little red triangle under your username.

It's the most unused feature on the board.
