Re: Our "What are we going to do?" 66 Suburban Build
Hey,
Good to see ya over here, lots of good peeps to help you on your 63 burb. Be warned though, we like lots of pics...maybe a build thread on your ride?? I'm out of town tonight, but I'll try to get you some pics of the rear underside tomorrow when I get back. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Our "What are we going to do?" 66 Suburban Build
Still working on pulling the engine together... bolted up the t400, a set of tight fitting headers that I hope work, and dropped a edelbrock thunder series 800 carb with a spectre filter/housing on top that we liked.
We hope to start pulling the front of the burb apart next week and begin cleaning and prepping for the new drivetrain.

Re: Our "What are we going to do?" 66 Suburban Build
Thanks Justin!
I really appreciate your taking the time that you did this afternoon to help me fiqure out what I needed. We ended up going with CPP's Grand slam kit that retains the stock 6-lug confiquration going to discs and dropping the front a bit with 2.5" spindles and the rear with some HD 4" springs...can't wait for the parts to get here! Gonna start the tear down this week...

Re: Our "What are we going to do?" 66 Suburban Build
Thanks Dino!
Well my dad had to head out of town for a few days so I thought I'd start pulling things off and got carried away... First thing tomorrow the motor will be out and I will have the suspension unbolted, the spindles are already busted loose.

Re: Our "What are we going to do?" 66 Suburban Build
Still cleaning and prepping, my boy has got the crossmember out and rough cleaned...should be painted and back in by tomorrow. He also picked up a set of 73+ mounts from pull-a-part for a couple bucks

Re: Our "What are we going to do?" 66 Suburban Build
Noticed your Burb thread and looked the whole thing over, very nice find and really like the direction your going with it...especially the Big block, have to have a big block in everyone of my builds and most of my buddy's too. Should move the burb pretty good with the 3.73 ratio and 4spd. Keep up the cool build, thanks for sharing.

Re: Our "What are we going to do?" 66 Suburban Build
Thanks Hemi and mudman...your responses help keep us motivated!
My son was working on his truck with our paint/body buddy today and left me to fend for myself Finished up the AC comp mount...it will be a while before we work out the rest of the AC system but I wanted to have the comp on for fitment. Other than running plug wires, the engine/trans is about ready to drop in...

Re: Our "What are we going to do?" 66 Suburban Build
We wanted to clean up the engine bay a bit before dropping the new drivetrain and needed to repair a bit of rust along the top of the firewall.
I've welded most of my life, but have always shied away from bodywork...didn't want to fubar something Decided to jump into the firewall work, figured it would be easy to hide if needed. I think it'll be alright...
