Re: '53 duramax

Truck is coming together very nice. Any details on the gauges? I am also going to use a EDGE cts2 to monitor the D-max motor and might only use a fuel and volt gauge in dash and flush the screen in the original location.

The guages are autometer American muscle series. They're not a direct bolt infor this application, I had to weld in rings to reduce the diameter of the original openings. I have to get a signal converter so that the tach works but other than that I love them!

Firstgenfan, yes hopefully I can make it down the shrewsbury markets more this year. Last year I only made it to one of them. It was crazy last year with selling our house and moving. I know what you mean, I like to just drive mine too.

New power steering pump went out, fixing some squeeks and rattles, and I had a QA1 coil over fail that I have to replace. Also had a brake pressure switch fail doing about 90 mph on a dead end road lol. Luckily, I was able to get stopped lol.

I ended up using a chromoly fabricated housing Ford 9" rear end on a TCI leaf spring kit and 2" lowering blocks. The front is a mustang II with QA1 coil overs. Thanks for the kind words. Hoping to tear the transmission out soon for a upgrade and get some better tuning.

How do you like the TCI leaf spring kit? How does it ride? I was thinking about doing the same thing for my rear suspension, but I keep hearing "4 link it" from buddies.

There is something to be said about a $500 kit that nearly bolts right up.

I love the truck! You did a great job!

So far I like it a lot. The 2 ply leafs ride good and it'll all but dead hook from a stop. You won't be let down by this kit.
