Re: Show us your projects
Here's a couple i've got going on.
Almost got the '53 road worthy!!! Its got a Camaro front stub, 355 with a mild cam, headers, Flowmasters, turbo 350 with a 2500 stall and some .373 gears out back. I've gotta get the door glass in, wood in the bed and the tranny cover installed on the inside and its ready to cruise...... Well other than getting the hood, running boards, and tailgate primed and painted but that's little stuff right?!?!? The other is a '50 i've been playing around with. Maybe kinda rat rod style or something. It was a parts truck for the '53 but I thought it still had potenial so I started playin with it too. May turn into something, who knows?!?!? |

Re: Show us your projects
Here are a few pics of mine. I just got it back in pieces from the paint booth a few days ago...I need an even bigger garage. The truck is a 55 chev with a 59 fleetside box, with the bullet removed. The top has now been chopped 1 9/16 as well as the hood has been pie cut the same. Its running a C4 front suspension with upgraded C5 brakes. The rear is a tci four bar. The motor is a 95 Lt1 with some Lingenfelter goodies and nitrous. I'll take some pics of it painted in a few days, and of the painted frame etc.

Re: Show us your projects
Greetings from the 73-87 side of the forum. I just picked up this '50 last Saturday. Needs cab rust repair but all the repair panels (LMC) came with the deal. Later on I'll be looking for a hood and a rear fender. The truck will rest on an S-10 chassis, air ride, SBC/700R.

Re: Show us your projects
Here's an update on mine................
The motor and trans are in place (307 TH350). Air ride components are installed, need to finish running the lines. Cab and bed are mounted/bolted in place. Bed sub-floor is complete. The bed floor will be covered with some weathered wood and as you can see, a 55 gallon drum covers the bridge notch. The barrel was stripped and sprayed with peroxide (old windex bottle), the rust formed in minutes. The core support bracket is complete, the front clip is removed while I work with the motor and trans. The shifter mechanism is home built and works perfectly, it's a $15 alternative to a $250 piece. The "Spoon" will be my gas pedal. Wheels are Circle Racing 15X7 with 1" BS in the rear and 2" BS will be on the front. Using the offset wheels allowed me to keep the S-10 rear and have the same track width front and rear without a goofy looking wheel/fender combination. I still need to re-drill my hubs and axles for 5/8 wheel studs. I'll be running 57 Cadillac hubcaps with 3" bullets and wide whitewalls. I plan to begin the suicide door hinge install in the next couple weeks. I'm going to try and get this thing ready for a trip the Fredricksburg Virginia October '11 for the Hot Rod Rumble.

I have a 52 project. I will do a formal intro later. My father-in-law gave me the truck. I'm in the process of replacing the rusted panels.
