The mid-night blue truck was assembled at a shop in Corona. I saw it there before it was complete. Very nice truck. Kim |

Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up
At the show it looked to be glass and I thought it was a '47 Chevy pick up tail light turned side ways but when I looked in my catalog it seems to long to be that year tail light. But if no one can ID it you could use a '60 Chevy pick-up tail light and turn it to the side, it looks similar and has a similar bezel as the truck in the picture. Look at this tail light on the sky blue truck below, someone told me what it came off of but I fogot. That's really different.

That is a 46-48 Ford passenger car tail light at least that's how my brain sees it.

Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up
This project feels like it is in slow motion. The more I do the slower it seems to progress,LOL. A lot of stuff I am doing wasn't worth taking pictures of, but here are some pictures of where I am. Most recent changes, left lower hinge pocket and salvaging the left rocker panel. I won't have to cut it out after all the previous owners slopped lots of bondo on instead of straightening it out and some other stuff I managed to get done. Hopefully in the near future some detail pics of the bed removal & mods and rear suspension changes.

Looking good. Makes me appreciate how solid my cab was when I got it. Just out of curiosity, what's bolted to the inside of your step? I saw those two bolts and it made me wonder.

Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up
Thanks but everyday life and the small details on the truck have made me aware that this isn't going to be done anytime in the near future. I DON'T KNOW WHAT i WAS THINKING

That's where I mounted my vacuum resivor can for the power booster due to the cam I have. My friend Kabwe was over and saw it and nicely suggested I might want to hide that, I will think about it

Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up
Replaced hinge pins and bushings. Left rocker panel did not have be cut out just remove excess body filler and straighten it out & minor dent repair to left door.

Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up
(damage control) minor repair to left door. I couldn't wait any longer so I shot the glove box door with the paint I bought for my truck. It's a single stage orange from Dupont ( Dupont Chroma Premier) It's 2006 Audi Papay Orange.

I had trouble uploading these two videos, you can see them here, I got more rust and excess amount of body filler waiting for me when I cut out my rear cab corners. http://www.flickr.com/photos/7552532...57605338968242 http://www.flickr.com/photos/7552532...7605338968242/

Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up
THANK You, yes more then a few people said I should leave it red oxide, but that's not for me. It was that color for so long, coz I was going to save the money to have it painted but I could never justify paying that kind of money so I'm gonna do it myself.
