Re: New Project at Musclerodz - '68 K20

Sorry I have dropped the ball in updating this thread the last few weeks. Here are some recent pics and final assembly has already begun. Bedliner shot, and all the sheetmetal is in color. Look for more pics in the coming days as we start to wrap this project up.

tintable Raptor. Same thing used on bottom of truck. Not real thick, but very tough. Not sure how durable until Richard can bring himself to use it.

I get it from my local auto paint store supplier. I like it better than SEM, don't like Shutz at all.

EDIT: didn't notice you were in Norman. Go to B&H

Re: New Project at Musclerodz - '68 K20

I found it for $99 in a kit... I like that it comes in four bottles so you only need to mix a small amount and don't wast an entire gallon.

That is what I pay for it but with tintable you need to go to your local paint store to get what ever color you want to tint it with. Make sure you tell them for bedliner kit so they sell you pigment only no binders. If black, just mix and shoot. Don't forget the shutz gun to shoot it if you don't have one, They are cheap.

Re: New Project at Musclerodz - '68 K20

I don't think the kit comes with a gun at B&H, they are like $10. They gave me one with the first kit I got, but I buy thousands of dollars of product every year as well. I have not got a gun with the other 6-7 kits I have bought.

Re: New Project at Musclerodz - '68 K20

Devil is in the details. New emblems installed, new trim, park lights, etc. to make the grill fresh again. Had to replace the righ exhaust manifold as the straight dump interfered with the differential when we moved the motor foward requiring a 45* dump manifold. New SPID installed. Tach dash going together this weekend, interior being assembled this week. I hope to fire up the truck very very soon. More pics coming tommorrow, I have a full day planned to tidy up a bunch of loose ends.

I have a chromabase mix station in my shop. And I love the 4 to 1 G2 clear. It sprays so nice and buffs like butter. I have been using the chromabase for four years now. Only one down fall, coverage, you really notice it on an overall. But great product.

The 327 / NV4500 / NP205 combo is around 6" longer than with the SM465. Unless I ran a divorced TC with cable operated sticks, the TC shifter would have been under the buddy bucket seats. THe Advance Adapters adapter moved the TC back roughly 1.5"-2" and we had to make the floor opening longer to clear and graft two tunnel covers together to cover it all back up.

I have not got the clutch 100% done yet, AA's kit does not exactly address the 67-72 installs very well.

Dude, I'm sorry but I think you have your VC spreader bars on backwards, I hope I'm wrong. Beautiful Build, he is a lucky man to have that turnkey

It spreads the contact area on the valve covers where the bolts go thru, supposed to help seal the gaskets up better
