Re: How about some pics of Static dropped 60-66

Thanks MisterC. It rides good and handles good right now so I'm going to drive as is while I'm doing body work and paint and may just leave it alone, it may look/appear different with color.

The front was 2.5" spindles with 2" springs and the rear was 3" springs and 2" blocks.

You nailed the Wheel/Tire combo. Boss wheels? What size wheels and tires?

Yes they are BOSS 330 wheels. They are 245/45R20s. Originally I was going to go with 255/45R20 but the deal I got on the Eagle RS-A tire was crazy and I couldn't pass it up. The wheels are old school and new school combined.

Re: How about some pics of Static dropped 60-66

I finally got it where I wanted it today!

After I did the disc brake conversion using the 2.5" dropped spindles, I had to have spacers in the springs because the 11" wide tires were rubbing on the fender . But I stumbled across these 15x7 rims the other day at my boys wheel shop and now the tires fit in the front fenders beautifully!

I think you hit the stance perfect for the look you have with those wheels.
Great find for those front wheels too.
Let's see some more pics.
Do you have a build/diary thread yet?
You need one to document your work.

Re: How about some pics of Static dropped 60-66

Awesome stance, how much lowered in the rear, I am currently 3" in the rear with springs and 1" in the front, truck sits way too high in the front, I am hoping that if I put a 2.5" drop spindle instead of drop springs in the front this should fix my issues. I wanted a slight bit of rake so your setup looks perfect.

Re: How about some pics of Static dropped 60-66

Thank you, this was my grandfather's truck he bought new in 1963! It is special to me in many ways. Also thanks for welcoming me to the forum. I actually just found this forum recently and could use all the knowledge that is found on here. This is a great forum and has the best trucks I've seen along with very good advice and ideas on what to do and where to find the parts needed!! I have made so many changes to my truck over the last 15-20 years it has had many different modifications. But I love where it is at now. Except stumped on bed ideas for wood choice and I want to lower the rear a little more along with the front. My wife has wanted me to add air bags to get the stance a little lower where it can sit more level and they say the ride is very nice. I'm thinking about just getting 5" springs in place of the 3 for rear and getting 1" drop for the front to go with the drop spindles and lowering blocks already on it. I also need a better track bar than the once on it from cpp as it needs to go to trailing arm now and I need to relocate the rear shock mounts.

Great looking truck, and a great story as well, welcome aboard!

try this thread for bed ideas, I haven't looked through it, but I suspect there are all kinds of ideas here

Re: How about some pics of Static dropped 60-66

I could use some suggestions on the rear track bar. I have seen on some other threads that the porterbuilt one is the way to go. I had never purchased from them, I usually have only found the parts I needed from CPP or performance online for suspension or chassis. So I have not heard of them till on here but they seem very popular and have many good remarks. Just thinking I am about to be in need of one if I go with the 5" drop springs with the lowering blocks on there now.

Re: How about some pics of Static dropped 60-66

I had to help CPP with the right over all legnth of the bar.. They kept sending me ( 3 times) the wrong bars.. LOL funny really..

At five you have more work in store.. depending on how you drop it.. but if the truck is going to see real hwy use I would pay close attention to pinion angles, u joints .. you know ..
