Re: Post Pics of your Static Drops!!
im running jeep coils with no bed right now, it rides about the same (still, no bed) id say the haulability is not the same because the jeep coils spring diameter is smaller i'll letcha know when i get my bed on ima put an ATV back there and see how it squats)

Re: Post Pics of your Static Drops!!
That looks great! One question: are you sure those are 17" wheels? They look like 15's from here. If they are 17's where did you get the 17" stamped steel wheels?

Re: Post Pics of your Static Drops!!
Here's mine soon to be DD with 5.25/5.50-17's She's got 2000 Jeep Wrangler springs in the back with 2.5" drop spindles and 1 and a half coils cut up front. Bags coming soon for the rear... it's still too high back there for my taste... Nose-up, a$$-down!!

Re: Post Pics of your Static Drops!!
Malibu, I'm running CPP 3" drops in the rear and I have to tell you that, in my opinion, based on what I've been reading, they are simply jeep coils in disguise. The wire size is a fraction of my original springs. Yes, they ride great, but they don't have any carrying capacity, I ended up investing in air bag helpers so I could haul stuff once in a while. For all I spent, I would have had a good start on a true airbag system.

Wow, I've never seen another newer style truck with artillery's on it. Your truck looks great. I like the way the bias ply also adds to the truck. Your right were I'd like to be with my truck. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Post Pics of your Static Drops!!
I mocked up my bed last week and drove it on the road for the first time.
Front is 5 inches (2" spindle, 3" spring) rear is 7" (5" spring, 2" block angled for the pinion angle). There is no bed floor which will be wood and no rear bumper and tailgate. So I figure it will be about 1 to 1 1/2" lower from what is shown in the pics.

Re: Post Pics of your Static Drops!!
Thought I would bring this one back up since it is a pretty good reference for height ideas, and we seem to be getting some new members. My '65: front 3" McGaughty's (sp?) springs with 1 coil cut off, and rear 5" springs from same company. Soon to come: 2.5" CPP spindles (sitting in my shop), and likely a 1 or 2 inch spacer in the rear with a notch and adjustable track bar.

Re: Post Pics of your Static Drops!!
6 pages an NO mention of what Jeep springs/coils people are using? Let's see some specs. There are quite a few Jeep models. Which ones work the best?

Re: Post Pics of your Static Drops!!
I believe it is a rear coil spring from an 80's cherokee (I could be wrong though, it's only what I have been told). Gives about a 3 inch drop in the rear.

Re: Post Pics of your Static Drops!!
Fronts or rears? I know it's popular to take front ZJ coils and put then in the back for a budget lift, but putting them on old trucks is new to me. Is there a write up or FAQ on making this happen?
