Got the buddy bucket consol ready for the upholsterer. Built a box for the stereo and welded it in the bottom and painted the inside with undercoating.
Another thing finshed.

It's raining were in the NW and I have all farming duties wrapped up. So I put the 66 back in the shop to "GET HER DOON".

Got the steering column copleted.
Mounted the gas pedal and cable. Installed the brake pedal and arm. modify the brake pedal arm so it isn't so high.
Finished the trans shifter and started installing the Dynomat

Got the Dynamat installed what a puzzel I was only able to lay (2) full sheets the rest I had to make a template cut and lay. After I do the doors I will have used two boxs . Installed the firewall pad I bought from LMC didn't fit but after a little cutting I got it to work.

It might not look like it, but I have been putting alot of hours in working on the truck.

1. finished vent window, rebuilt and installed.
2. Kick panel vents gave me some grief. The seals that I installed from LMC are thinner and not as ridged as stock. So the vent in the closed position is flatter. Which means the arms had to be bent to latch right.
3. Installed the electric window mounts and motor's PITA.
4. Installed the door seals (drivers side twice).
5. Finished the brakes.
6. I spent alot of time welding firewall holes. Know I have to redrill them.
7. Built and installed mounting brackets for fuse block and MSD box.
8. Rebuilt heater controller and installed.

The next thing to do is finish the passanger door and install the front end.

Modifying those fresh air vents to open and close with a cable is super easy.
I did it with mine. Even with figuring it all out, both took less than a day to adapt.

Well it,s Christmas tree season and are farm is a U-Cut so in between helping the U-Cutters I,m working on the truck. Got a few more things doon.

1. The doors are finished (thank god for that)
2. The core support and inter fenders are on (I hope for the last time)
3. Made the lines for the Hydro boost

Great build!! The pickup is looking good. I have a question regarding your steering setup.
I am using 72 suspension on my 63 C10. When I went to mount the steering cross link, I realized the bracket that holds the idler arm to the frame is completely different between the two and there are no provisions for the 72 mount on the 63 frame. I cant think of a way to properly locate it to make new holes. How did you tackle this if at all? Thanks.

I just leveled the cross link and drilled new holes for the idler arm.
The guy you need to talk to about this is Captainfab he has helped a lot of use with steering problems.

Well finally the truck is gone.
Last Friday I drove her down the road and put her on the trailer to go to the upholster.
There's things that need more work like the steering at idle there's no power not sure about that.
The upholster said that I should have it back the first of March.

I am pretty sure that no steering at idle means the power steering pump is on its last leg if used, defective if new....

Nice build ,got a question about your Buddy Console . Can you give more pics and details on how you mounted the radio and how you plan to route the wiring ? What you have done is exactly what I want to do with mine .

This is the second rebuilt steering pump I got from Napa. The first one spit fluid out of the reservoir and now this one. Have had other problems with new parts. Quick Fuel carb does not adjust and alternator gets real hot, had to send them back.
What's the deal, am I getting all the reject parts. Oh, one more thing... don't buy Russell teflon lined braided steering hose... there a ***** to keep from leaking.

I cut a channel in the dynomat from under the dash to under the seat, layed the wires in, used tape to hold them in place. I will take some more pictures and post them.

Logically speaking the only other element that could be at fault would be your steering gear box.
I confess I have never heard of one of those going bad, nor could I imagineany way to test it.

Perhaps someone else can chime in with greater info for you....

I picked up the seats today and they look great. The upholsterer is doing a great job and is now working on a door panel. I started working on the bed wood going with maple, purple heart and walnut inlay.
