Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne

I like this build. Your truck is going to be wicked I need to get a good alarm for my 79 GMC. I will be checking into this one. I like the remote start option and all the remote functions. How is your LS build coming? Will be pulling my old engine this weekend getting ready for my 6.0l swap.

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne

The pulley covers look great. I was wondering, does that type of air inlet system cause problems with heat soak? Either way the dual air intake looks cool.

tube bender works good and it easy to use I chose this bender because its bends 3 sizes and i didn't want to buy a 1 size. My local Sears carrys this bender for $45 or shop online I got mine at Eastwood $54 shipped.

I got the intake polished LS6 twin air horn from Street & performance http://www.hotrodlane.cc/ for 306.95. with a polished 5 pin MAF adapter for $42.95
To mount this it uses two small allen screws which I replaced with a Spectre 4" tube connector I got that for$15

The filters are from Spectre I got those from Jegs for $31.99. Kragen or Autozone carries them for $39.00. specs- 3", 3.5", and 4" diameter inlet tubes Blue: 6" W x 10.25" L

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne

Today i got my fuel rail covers these covers capture the original styling of the Chevrolet small block valve cover with its raised fins and classic Corvette script. I got these custum painted to match the ride.

They look sweet!

Well I have all the parts needed but Im being held back because I'm moving by the end of this month and I will need the truck to haul. I also need to get my paint, I want to paint the engine bay, fire wall, inner fenders ,wheel wells, and the radiator core support before I drop the engine. Once I do start I will keep the pictures coming.

Holy cow that's a lotta bling! I'd like to know your opinion on what the effect of sucking all that heat through the split intake has on performance one it is up and running. Do you plan on doing a dyno tune once it's done?

Looking sweet, love the truck too!

I may have clearance issues with this Y intake, I just may run a single. I will do a dyno to fine tune and get the most out of it and to know exactly what the numbers are.
