Re: Maggie's Custom
Got a few updates, but once again I didn't get everything on my check list crossed off. I had Captin Fab overnight a bracket for the brake booster Friday, got all the fittings I needed, but forgot brake line!! That was the first mistake of the weekend. I got the front brakes installed, hooked up the e-brake, after I swapped the steering column (not wired yet) installed the master cylinder (still have to lengthen the push rod) made rear brake lines (bought them eariler in the week) than I started fooling with the bed!
Wrong horn button, wrong color, and was painted white! but I got it cheap! Rear brake line and tap Bed back off! |

Re: Maggie's Custom
I started on the raised bed floor, I welded on some 1x1 angle and the beds mounting points to strengthen the bed, than I welded in some 2x2 angle for the new bed floor. I than put the bad back on than bolted it down solid so I could finish my bed floor.
Off the the tubs! |

Re: Maggie's Custom
My thought was to chop the tubs down in order to figure out where the center angle iron would go. I did the first tub than realized mistake number two! I did the old measure once cut twice on the first tub, it came out bad ass! but killed the rest of my day, I cut it back apart, rewelded it, checked the fit than called it a day!! I'm tired!!
Cut back apart!! Still one more to do! I have one more weeked to work on it, than I move!! Jason |

Re: Maggie's Custom
I went home for lunch and put the clip on the truck (took some help) (they are coming to show the house to some new renters!! so I wanted to get it moved). Anyway I'm thinking the front tires look to small, I won't have to cut the fender liners. Maybe a 215 70 or 235 70? I'll roll it out in the drive tonight and take some pics!

Re: Maggie's Custom
Here's a good chart to help you decide. The 235 70 might be to tall depending on the look you want. They are close to the same height as your rear 270 60 tires
Maybe a 205 75? would give you roughly 3/4 extra overall diameter and tread width would be about 1/2 wider http://www.angelfire.com/on/geebjen/tires.html . |

Re: Maggie's Custom
Here it is with the front clip! I ordered two tires for the front so I can decide what to do, it looks ok with the 205 but I have some 235 70's BFG's that will be here tomorrow. Going to measure for the brake lines and call it a night! Let me know what you guys think.
Its has some air in the back in this pic. I'm waiting for Maggie to get home now! Can't wait to see her face when she pulls in the drive! Jason |
