Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
Well it looks like we are going to Topeka (8-27 and 8-28) . It is a Fri-Sat race , I like running at night and that gives me all day to get home Sunday . I have been trying to upload some video but havent got anything done yet . Anyway if any members come to the race come by and say hey ! We will be way out past the finish line in the last pit area .

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
Well guys Topeka wasnt alot of fun (except for the non racing festivities). My first run was slow and it just seemed to get slower . My generator was giving me fits also (ugggh no ac at night) . My first round opponent had devine intervention on the door ! Musta been becuase they pulled him off the starting line for a leak and a got a competition bye run . Good thing becuase I went a 10.98 but I was .008 on the tree . After that I noticed my battery charger after over an hour was still at 10 amps on a 10 amp charge . I figured the batteries were junk but couldnt do anything but hope for the best . I lost second round with a .033 advantage at the line I was .020 he was .053 the truck just wouldnt run right . We tested the batteries today and together they didnt make enough amps for one battery . I was in 3rd place 3 1/2 rounds out of first when I got there and left in 5th place still 3 1/2 rounds out of first so it aint over yet . I may drop the Nationals in Ennis so I can go to Georgia in October we will just have to see what happens in Belle Rose La in 2 weeks ....

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
Well it looks like the season is over for The Blue Truck ! I had more problems than I thought . The head gaskets were giving up (completely between #5 and #7) and there is some of the piston missing on #5 . I'm not sure if we got some bad fuel or what !!!! Anyhow the truck is done for the year . I may go to Belle Rose ,La next week and drive one of my buddies cars and if I do I will run it in Noble Ok also . It will be next year before the truck runs again......

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
Sorry to hear that. I was hoping to go over to Belle Rose and see you run that truck. If you go, good luck to you! Hope it is not too bad on your wallet to fix it for next year.

Thanks a lot for sharing the story of your pickup Regan. It was very cool to see its evolution into the strip machine it is today. Sorry to read about your luck this year. Hopefully the road to recovery will be as quick and painless as possible. I'll be pullin for a better year for you in 2011.

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
Hey Regan. Guess we are neighbors, LOL. I live in Longview. I raced at Hallsville for many years. I have seen you around the tracks but just now found your thread. You have a super nice truck and i can't wait to see it back in action again. Too bad Hallsville is now leveled. That was a great place back in the day.

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
Regan I hate you got bit by a bad track. You would think NHRA could do better than that. Good luck at Belle Rose.

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
I will have to see what I can do about getting over to LA next weekend. With baseball going on, we might not get to leave here until about lunch time on Saturday. Hope your weekend over there is better than Houston.

I talked to Randy Ramo on that Saturday morning of the Belle Rose weekend. I did not realize it was that far from Longview. Maybe when yall are racing at Ennis I can get there...
How did you do in Belle Rose?

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
Hey Regan,
Nice story. I made the mistake of adding up receipts for the last 5 years today...ugg. I'm going to take a shot at some 10.90 stuff in the coming months. I'm liking the way the truck is working with the SWB. Good luck with your rig.
